My mom anxiously stands beside my dad. She is about ready to cry thinking of her baby girl in trouble. But they don't know I really didn't do anything wrong. Hayes slapped Caleb. I didn't. But I didn't even get a chance to defend myself yet. I graciously wait for the principle to be available. But it doesn't feel like a long wait because all I can think of is Hayes. And how much I hope Hayes will stand up for me. But what if he doesn't. The principle yells that she is ready. So I crack open the old door and see her face. She looks upset. But why? Because I am that one girl that is so innocent and shows maturity that no other student does. So I sit down comfortably beside Hayes in the beaten up old school chairs. She asks what happened as my face goes lifeless. Hayes humbly spoke up though. What makes me hopeful is that the first thing that comes out of his mouth is, "Emily didn't do it.."
