ch one: the redemption of cheryl blossom

another day with friends, another drug to abuse, cheryl thinks to herself. ever since last year, whenever nick st clair tried to rape her, cheryl has tried so, so hard to get her beloved friends to stop abusing drugs. it seems as though every time she almost gets them to stop, they relapse. cheryl isn't ignorant, she knows how addicting drugs, sex and money is, and it's because of that, that she is trying so hard to help the people she loves.

"v, please stop! you will kill yourself with that much!" cheryl hollered to her best friend, to which veronica responded,"stop being such a fucking buzzkill, blossom! loosen up, have some fun!"

cheryl just sighed in sadness as she watched her best friend destroy herself. veronica and cheryl were both happy, once upon a time. and then one archie andrews entered their life and changed it dramatically..starting with having veronica fall for him.

after almost a year of dating veronica, archie andrews decided to fall for veronica's, at the time, best friend. none other than cheryl's own cousin, betty cooper. "the girl next door," as many like to call her. ever since  archie left veronica to pine after betty, who, keep in mind, has a boyfriend, she's been abusing drugs, alcohol and sex in order to escape from the heartbreak he inflicted on her.

and now, for why archie changed cheryl's life. over the course of her life, cheryl blossom has been through many tragic experiences. including, trying to kill herself after the death of her twin, jason. as cheryl fell through the ice, archie andrews was there to save her; from both death and herself. after that day, cheryl found an escape too. that escape being drugs.

cheryl did drugs all day everyday for months. and it wasn't until she went through yet another tragic experience that she realized she needed to stop. it was after she got so high that a man almost raped her, she realized she needed to stop. as well as her friends and everyone else in riverdale.

cheryl can admit that her past actions cannot and should not be justified, but ever since going through the death of her brother and father, as well as her suicide attempt, she's changed her perspective not only on life, but people as well. friends she hung out with in her freshman year, she no longer talks to. music she listened to, clothes she wore, etc. she changed drastically. for the better, though.

"veronica..can we go, please? i'm tired, hungry and bored. also, i don't particularly find joy in watching my best friend destroy herself over a guy that never deserved her anyways," cheryl sighed, fed up with her best friend. "no, cheryl. i don't want to go. i'm gonna stay here, with reggie. if you want to go, be my guest. but you're not going to ruin my night just because you don't know how to have fun anymore,"

with tears in her eyes, cheryl walked out of reggie mantle's home, lonely, but not alone. there was a pink haired girl walking out of the home next to his, also with tears in her eyes.
