Chapter 51

Marian had gotten home from having lunch with her mother at her club. It was their last lunch together before they left on the yacht to go home to London. She loved how her mother gushed over her and how proud she was. The girls with their fake admiration for her mother. It used to bother her, but her mother seemed to soak it up and enjoyed every moment of it.

She walked into the kitchen and found a note from Harry. He had taken Faith and went to have lunch with some friends before they left.  Next to the note was a picture of her and Ahmir. She had been putting it off, but she really needed to talk to Zayn and tell her little lion cub goodbye.

Hey, are you free for a chat? She texted Zayn, hoping that he was alone.

 Zayn has been out shopping for Kaia. He wanted to surprise her with a new charm for her bracelet.  They'd all been still reeling in a sense from the news about her and Katia's real parents and he knew that his wife had also been a little off lately but he couldn't put his finger on it.  He was starting to worry about her state of mind.  He knew when she started to shut herself off that it wasn't a good thing.  He needed to get her out of her dark place.

He heard his phone buzz and read the text.

Just our doing some shopping. You alright? Can I do anything for you? 

 I need to talk to you about something. I was also wondering if you could bring Ahmir by for a visit. Pretty please!

He couldn't help but smirk and shake his head.  Okay. I'll run home and pick him up. He's hanging out with Liam and Louis right now. Kaia is with my mum and Destiny and Karim right now. So I've got the time.

Zayn arched an eyebrow as he went to his car and put the shopping bags in and got in.  Keeping secrets from Kaia again? 

No just from your buddies, your bros.

See you soon. he texted her and wondered what was going on.

He got home a short time later and although Ahmir was a little upset as he and his uncles had been working hard on building a sandcastle, he was very excited when his Papa told him they were going to see his T. Zayn helped him change his clothes and they headed off.  Ahmir kept asking him lots of questions as to why just the two of them.

They pulled into the gate of Harry's house in the hills of Calabasas. Marian has pretty much moved back in with him and they'd been making things work from what Harry had told him.  But Marian didn't want Kaia to know that she had moved in with Harry.  She still felt nervous being alone with him and they didn't sleep in the same bedroom very often.  Just mainly for naps and cuddling on the couch.

He parked the car and unbuckled Ahmir and he rushed to the door. "T!" He shouted and threw open the door.

"Ahmir!" Zayn scolded as he followed behind his son.

Marian couldn't help the wide grin that spread across her face upon hearing her little lion cub screaming her name.  She scooped Ahmir into her arms, hugging him tightly.  "Auntie loves you so much!"

 "T!" He said and squeezed his little arms around her neck. "I love you too!" He said and kissed her cheek.

Zayn smiled when he saw her. "Hi."

Marian kissed Ahmir's cheek then looked up at Zayn.  "Hey, thanks for coming. You didn't spill the beans did you?" She asked.  "I have cookies and lemonade in the kitchen," she told Ahmir.
