Sleep Paralysis- Jungkook

Chapter 18

Soeun's POV

It has been five long years since I left Korea to study in Australia, I missed my mother and Jimin a lot, even though we kept in touch. Due to university, I was not able to go back to Korea during any of the holidays. It was hard juggling a part-time job and university studies... Being the top student made it worse as well because the professors would use me to help the other students in the class.

I finally graduated the duel degree of business marketing and digital communications and I was finally ready to start working. I was looking for jobs all over Australia but nothing really caught my eyes. I was thinking about going back to Korea and starting my career there but I wasn't too sure if I should... I mean I miss my family and all... and Taehyung.

Taehyung and I go way back, he used to visit me whenever he had a break in university and we would spend hours in a skype call just studying together. He offered me several jobs several times but I declined them all. I wasn't desperate to get a job. I wanted to find one on my own.

I was looking for jobs through the many connections I made when I was in university. There were many tempting offers that ranged from large companies such as Samsung to small startups. While looking through my offers, a company stood out to me. The company specialised in cosmetics and was doing fairly well, the reason why it interested me is that I am a frequent user of the companies products.

Well, it looks like I am going to be going to Korea. After booking an interview I booked my trip to Korea not telling anyone I was going to Korea to surprise them. 

You may be wondering about Hypnos, it's not completely cured but it has been weakened. These days I only get small minor episodes of Hypnos where I would feel sleepy and maybe fall, I may have some rare occasions where I would not be able to control myself but that doesn't last too long anymore. 

I was both happy and terrified to go back to Korea as I made nervous steps into the plane. The flight back to Korea was ten hours long which gave me enough time to read over the interview question and prep my answers. I was so thrilled to have a chance to work for the company that I admire so much. 

After a long ten hour flight, I got off the plane and collected my bag. I got through customs quickly as I was still a Korean citizen and I was quickly met with the freezing air of Korea. 

I'm home...

The interview was in two days so that gave me enough time to visit everyone. I haven't gotten a place to stay at because I was hoping that I could stay with mother and Jimin. I walked up to the entrance of the apartment that my mother and Jimin were living in and pressed the house number hoping someone would pick up.

"Hello?", I heard Jimins voice through the speakers.

"Jimin it's me.", I replied shoving my face into the camera.

"SOEUN? OH MY GOD, IT'S SOEUN", I heard Jimin shout on the other end of the line. 

The automatic doors opened and I was granted entrance into the apartment, I was so happy because I was freezing outside. After the short elevator ride up I was quickly welcomed by two bright smiles coming from my mother and Jimin. Jimin rushed to me and took all my luggage and dropped it off in the living room.

"Soeun it's great to finally see you", My mum tightly hugged me. 

"Well I got an interview for 'All Seasons Cosmetics' here in Korea", I excitedly chirped. 

Both my mother and Jimin gave each other this weird look which they both understood but I didn't. 

"O-oh that's great sweetie you should go rest it must have been a long flight..." My mother stuttered. 

"Your room in the one next to mine. Unpack there and come back out for your welcome back party.", Jimin instructed me. 

I settled in after the party and it was time to sleep, the next day I was going to surprise Taehyung at his office so I had to get up early. But when I tried to sleep a sudden thought intruded my mind. 

How is Jungkook doing? 

A tear escaped my eyes as the past made itself know. The hatred, the pain, the suffering I went through because of him made me want to disappear once again. I was never destined to be with Jungkook, we came from different families... His rich and mine poor. 

But! That's no longer the case. My family is doing just fine. Even though we are doing fine, I will never be good enough for Jungkook and his family and that doesn't bother me one bit because I don't want to be apart of that ruthless family in the first place.

I got ready as soon as I woke up to go meet Taehyung at his office before he arrives. I bought bread on the way thinking that Taehyung would have probably skipped breakfast like he used to tell me when I interrogated him about his days. 

When I arrived at his office I noticed how large it was and how it towered over almost all the buildings in the area. Taehyungs company building towered over everyone besides this one I could see in the far corners of my eyes. I was proud of Taehyung because he took over his families retail company and not followed me to Australia. 

I decided to wait in the lobby because it was too cold outside. As I walked into the company office I was met with security giving me a strange look. I just tried to act normal and walk confidently towards where everyone's going. I was quickly approached with a problem when the employees entered through the gate and I was there awkwardly standing because I did not work at this company. 

I decided to turn around as nothing happened and try to sit down on one of the seats available. It was better than further embarrassing myself. 

"Miss do you work here?", One of the security.

"U-hh U-mmm", I stuttered badly. 

"I will take that as a no.", The security man bluntly cut me off.

"Now miss I will escort you out." 

"Wait, no I am waiting for someone", I tried protesting not moving almost getting pushed out. 

"Miss you can't wait in here it's employees only here."

I couldn't say anything back to the security man because he was right... I am not an employee here. Thus it lead to me being shoved towards the door which I tried my best to fight back but I was no match for his strengths. In the midst of being pushed out, I saw Taehyung enter the company spaced out thinking. 

All the employees bowed their heads including the security guards. I took this chance to make a break for it an run towards Taehyung. 

"TAE!", I shouted to grab his attention while I was running to him.

I saw Taehyung turn around, and that was the last thing I saw before I was tackled to the ground. In embarrassment, I looked up to be met with a shocked Taehyung. 

"GET OFF HER! THIS INSTANT", I heard Taehyungs anger roar. 

That moment I was released and I was free to stand up. I just gave Taehyung a big smile before I Taehyung came running to me and hugging me tightly making all the employees gasp. He just looked at me in disbelief that I was in Korea. 

"When did you come back?", Taehyung asked filled with happiness. 

"Like yesterday", I smiled. 

"Long time no see, through", I playfully put Taehyung in a headlock making the employees gasp again.  

"I see you full of energy", Taehyung laughed getting out of the headlock. 

"What brings you to Korea?", He asked.

"I got a job interview at 'All Seasons Cosmetics'", I proudly announced to Taehyung, but Taehyung gave me the same look that my mother and Jimin gave me.

"I don't think you should work there, actually you can't work there", Panic was evident in Taehyungs voice.

"Why?", I asked dumbfoundedly.
