Troye's POV
It was the MTV Music Awards. I wasn't nominated but I was playing a cover of a song I had recently discovered through my dad and it was truly heartbreaking.
I was called onto stage. I walked out with my guitar, which I had learned for this song specifically.
"Okay, so first of all, Hello everyone who's watching at home. Second, this is not something I would typically play but my dad introduced this to me about a month ago and it really touched me and I can only hope I do the song justice. Without further ado, I am going to be singing Concrete Angel, originally by the lovely Martina McBride." I said and I started playing my guitar.
"She walks to school with the lunch she packed
Nobody knows what she's holding back
Wearing the same dress she wore yesterday
She hides the bruises with the linen and lace, oh
The teacher wonders but she doesn't ask
It's hard to see the pain behind the mask
Bearing the burden of a secret storm
Sometimes she wishes she was never born
Through the wind and the rain she stands hard as a stone
In a world that she can't rise above
But her dreams give her wings and she flies to a place
Where she's loved, concrete angel
Somebody cries in the middle of the night
The neighbors hear but they turn out the light
A fragile soul caught in the hands of fate
When morning comes it will be too late
Through the wind and the rain she stands hard as a stone
In a world that she can't rise above
But her dreams give her wings and she flies to a place
Where she's loved, concrete angel
A statue stands in a shaded place
An angel girl with an upturned face
A name is written on a polished rock
A broken heart that the world forgot
Through the wind and the rain she stands hard as a stone
In a world that she can't rise above
But her dreams give her wings and she flies to a place
Where she's loved, concrete angel"
When I was done, I had slight tears welling in my eyes and I had a hard time singing that last verse. I walked off stage and out the back door where I knew Tyler was waiting. I rested my guitar against the wall and hugged Tyler as I cried for all the children just like the girl in the song whose parents hurt them on purpose and felt no remorse. A few minutes later, I pulled away and dried my eyes.
"C'mon Tilly, let's go home." I said and we did just that. He dropped me off at my apartment and after repeatedly making sure I was okay, he went back to his apartment. I showered, changed into pajamas and fell into bed, hoping for an easy sleep after a long day.

Okay so that's a thing?? Um... I don't know where this came from, it's literally 8 am and I've had no sleep and this just popped in my head while I was on tumblr. This is it for this little one-shot so dubai for now.
