Chapter Five

The whole castle seems quieter now that the Pevensies have gone.

It is so boring without them and you have to catch with all the work.

You miss them terribly and especially Ed. Now that he's gone you understand how much he really meant to you and all the times he was there with you. Of course, James is there, but, it's different with him here. How he smiles at you or accompanies you in sword fights all of it are simplest things but gave you immense joy.

So, You've decided. You're going to tell him how you feel when you go there.
"Adara, get a grip, it'll be fine," you told yourself daily.

Of course, you were scared of rejection but this was getting out of hand. You can't think of anything else but him. You have to get this out.

Anyway, time seems to go so slow, it doesn't seem to go at all.

Soon, you were just a week away from going there. You make all the necessary arrangements. Along with you and Al, Kel, James, security and your carriage maintenance staff were coming.

You put your dresses, crowns, swords, armours, and a few necessities.

"Done?" James asks peeping through the door.

"Almost." You say.

"Help?" he asks.

"Sure. Get that crown for me, no?" you ask.

He gets it and you pack it in together.

Then, you both have a long chat, laughing at his jokes, time seems to fly.

Soon then it was time.

You finish your breakfast and head outside.

Your luggage is put in the carriage. Kel and James volunteered to supervise the carriage while you and Al rode on the horses before them.

Soon you started. James with his carriage came close behind talking with you, keeping company.

The journey seems to stretch on forever though it is not so far away.

You stop for a while a few times to rest your horses and carry on.

And there it is. The famous Cair Paravel in view. Under the moonlight, it seems glorious than ever.

So you soon get to the gates and hand in your horses.

There they were. There he was.
Everyone smiling and waving at you.
So you walk forward to hug them but Lucy doesn't give you the chance as she runs forward and almost knocks you off.

"Lucy!" you say, hugging back.

"Damn, I missed you, Adara!" she says, laughing. "So glad you're back!"

"I am too!" you say pulling back.

You turn to see Al giving Peter a hug. They indeed had become best buddies.

You go and see Ed and hug him and he hugs back.

"Man, I missed you!" he whispers to you.

It gives a butterfly feeling in your stomach and you ignore it. "I did too, Ed," you say hoping he didn't say it in a friendly way but more than that.

Little did you know he was thinking the same thing.

You pull back and give hugs to both Pete and Su.

"Peeeeteeee!" you smile widely hugging him.

"Daaaaaaaaaaaaarrr" he teases.

Al just shakes his head.

"Let's go in," Su suggests.

"Yeah," Pete says, "I'll also introduce you to Caspian, he's our friend."

So you walk in along with James and Lucy who excitedly talks about various things.

Then you see a boy who you never saw before.

"Introducing, Prince Caspian." Pete laughs.

"Hey." Al firmly shakes his hand.

"Hi," you say too.

He nods and says, "Hello. Pleasure to meet you both."

"Formal much?" Lucy jokes.

"Shut up, Lucy." he rolls his eyes. You smile, Caspian seems fun.

He walks with you to the dinner table later on.

"Hi!" he smiles. "You didn't tell your name earlier?"

"Adara." you smile.

"Nice name, Adara. Nobody stops talking about you guys." he laughs.

You laugh,  "They're delightful people,"

Soon you're at the dinner table.

You sit in between Ed and James.

Every time you see Ed you remember the confession you promised yourself you'd confess causing you to turn a little red.

"Been a long journey?" Su asks.

"A tiring one for sure," Al says

"Well, we get to sleep later today" You laugh.

"How's Arylia?" Ed whispers to you.

"It's doing great, really," you whisper back.

"That's nice. I miss it though I'm glad to be back in Narnia. I hope you like it too." he says a little louder and it's not a whisper anymore.

You clear your throat, "I think I will, by the looks of it."

Soon after dinner, you choose your room, one with a beautiful view and hit the sack.

Soon, the next morning, as you sit at the breakfast table, you notice the joyous atmosphere and you wonder if anything is up.

"Good morning!" you greet to no one in particular.

"Good morning!" Pete said, brightly. "I've got an announcement to make!"

"Go for it!" Caspian said, excited.

Lucy squealed and Su high-fived Ed.

You and Al look at each other,  what's happening?

"It's a ball day after tomorrow!" Peter said.

"Day after tomorrow?" AI says in disbelief.

"Yes!" Lucy said,

"You've given us in our last week so we thought we'd arrange one in your first." Su smiled.

"That's lovely!" you smile.

After breakfast you ask Ed for a tailor for your gown, James insisted on accompanying due to his passion for tailoring.

Two strong men by your side, you felt like you didn't need security.

Soon Ed knocks on a wooden door in the far end of the castle.

"Ms Rogers?" he calls and the door opens.

"Just Amanda, Your Majesty." a pretty young girl, with fierce red hair, said.

"A Gown for her." He says and she nods, asking you to follow.

Inside a quite smaller room, she asks you to choose cloth and colour and length etc. And asks you to follow again.
She leads to back outside to the main room again.

"I'll take the measurements, your Majesty," she says, taking out the tapes.

As she measures and announces various figures to another person in the far corner, you feel your cheeks redden as you felt weird everyone knowing your measurements. She called you back in the afternoon.

As soon as you're outside, you breathe a sigh of relief.

"She's the best we've got," Ed said.

"Figured," James said. "She seems very professional."

"Everyone is, Mr Blackwood," Ed replied.

"I thought you guys were on first name basis?" you laugh.

"Well, I am!" James laughs.

You collect your gown, a deep purple, later that day and you absolutely adored it. Though you did not show it to the guys for the sake of surprise, you're sure they'd like it too.
