After the proposal, Gail and Jay returned to the Maverick household to announce the news to Jane and Julian.
"We have some amazing news for you.", Jay said with a smile. "What?", Jane asked. Gail showed her engagement to them and smiled.
"We're engaged!", she squealed, showing her engagement ring. Jane was surprised and so was Julian. Jane and Julian congrats the newly engaged couple. "I'm so happy for you, bro.", Julian smiled.

"Thanks, bro.", Jay smiled as he hugged Julian once more. "I better called Angel to come over and you guys have to tell her.", Julian replied, as he called me.
"I better call Alexandra and Amanda and tell them as well!", Gail replied. Jay also called Jordan over as well.
I drove over and they share the news with me. I walked into the living room and saw Jane, Julian, Jay, Gail, Amanda, Alexandra, Jordan and Conner.
"What's going on?", I asked. "We're celebrating!", Julian said, unscrewing a cork from a champagne bottle.
"Celebrating what?", I asked. Gail showed me her engagement ring and I was surprised. "What? Are you engaged?", I asked. "Yes, we are.", Gail smiled. I screamed and hugged her.

"Let me see the ring.", I asked, holding her hand and looking at the beautiful ring. After staring at the princess-cut diamond ring, it took my breath away. "It's beautiful.", I sighed. "It's like a fairytale princess engagement ring.", Gail replied and I agree the same thing.
After looking at the ring, Julian hand me a glass of champagne as we're about to toast the newly engaged couple.

"To Abigail and Jay!", Jane replied. "To Abigail and Jay!", we all repeated and clinging our champagne glasses and took a sip.
The next day, I decided to host an engagement party at the Maverick household for Gail and Jay.
Gail and I decorate the house and everyone in our family and friends dressed up and came to the special event. Mum, Nan, Pop and Aunt Jacinta joins the event and congratulate the couple.

As the party was going well, Julian called out for Gail and I. "Gail, Angel!", he called out. We both walked up to him and see what's the problem. "What is it, Julian?", Gail asked.
"Your father is outside the front door, he's expecting you, Gail.", he sighed. She grabbed Jay with her and went to meet Dad.
Julian and I accompany them. As we all walked out, Dad turned around and Gail held Jay's hand.
"Angelina, Abigail.", Dad replied. Gail looked at a very expensive bottle of red wine in Dad's hand and was confused.
"What is this? Another show off?!", she asked. "No, I heard the news that you're engaged. And I thought this is the perfect wedding gift.", Dad replied.

"What are you saying?", she asked. "I'm saying that I'm giving you my blessing.", Dad sighed. Gail and I were surprised with those words, it was unbelievable that Dad finally accept Jay to be with Gail.
"Abigail, honey. I'm sorry. I shouldn't have being so hard on you. It took me time to get over what he did to your sister.", he replied.
Gail and Jay remained silent until Dad walked up to her. "Look, I know you don't want to hear this from me right now, but I'm so proud of you.", he smiled.
Gail just stood there and gave him a hug which surprises him. "Thank you.", she sighed. "It's alright sweetheart.", he sighed.
Dad then shake Jay's hand and later hugged him. "Welcome to the family, Jay.", Dad sighed. "Thank you Mr O'Connor.", Jay replied.
"I'm glad you're here, Daddy. Because we're celebrating our engagement. Come in.", Gail replied, held Dad by the hand and led him in.
The engagement party became a success and everything was perfect. A week later, Gail, Jay, Julian and I start planning our weddings.
We both decided to have a double wedding so it's better and amazing for the both of us!
