I don't know what to do with my life
You have 2 sisters and 2 brothers, one older and one younger for each gender
Also just forget he's a country for this
It was past 2 p.m. yet you didn't get up. You wouldn't wake up. You were completely wasted from staying up all night crying, like every night. A few months ago you lost everything you had. Your parents, siblings, pets... and your best friend, Matthew.
Flashback
The sirens wailed in your ears, coming as a surprise to you. You were in your room, chatting with your best friend Matthew, whom you may have had a crush on... today would have been a perfect day to confess. But just as you had summoned the courage to tell him, the tornado sirens went off.
You exchange a glance with him and see worry and surprise lacing his beautiful blue eyes. You reached over to your remote, turning on the small box-like tv you had in your room. Immediately you were redirected to the weather channel, which showed a woman reporting a possible F5 tornado heading towards (your town). You gasp. Your house was right in its path!
You hear a yell from your family downstairs. Grabbing Matthew's hand, you run downstairs and gather with your family. "We need to get out of here," you mother wailed. You swallowed, glancing at Matthew for comfort. He gave you a warm smile, as if telling you everything would be okay.
But still he looked afraid. At your father's order, your family moved to the backdoor, where your father was explaining to everybody that as soon as they got outside, they would need to run to the safer basement out of the two that where there.
Your house had two basements, only accessible through large heavy doors in your backyard. The safer bunker, though, was in the direction the wind was coming from. You gulped. Grasping Matthew's hand firmly, you silently vowed that you and Canada would either live or die together.
First you mother and sister went first. They screamed as they tried to move towards the bunker, and were quickly smothered out by the white wind that blew fierce outside. Feeling as if you had swallowed thorns, you prayed they would be safe. Your brothers went next, the older one struggling through the wind whist gaurding the younger. Finally it was you, your youngest sister, and Matthew's turn, as your father would go last.
He holds your hand firmly. "Are you ready?" He asked "even if I wasn't, I don't have much of a choice" you growled back. You looked down to check on your sister, who looked at you with eyes filled with fear. Then the three of you stepped out.
You didn't remember much about the wind, just that Matthew held you close and protected you and your sister as the three of you tried to get to the basement that was safest. Suddenly another strong gust took on, and you yelled to Matthew, "we need to go to the other one!" So letting the wind take you a bit, you and Matthew managed to get (sister) and yourself to the other basement.
Clinging to each other, the two of you pulled open the hatch. You groaned with the effort, as the heaviness almost seemed to match the gale-force winds blasting you. Quickly Matthew bundled you and (sister) inside. He followed, but when he reached up to close the hatch, he couldn't.
"We need to close it!" You screamed over the strengthening wind. "I know!" He yelled back. Growling with the effort, Matthew tried again vainly to close the hatch, but the winds were blasting it open.
"...outside... close...." "what?" You could barely hear him over the wind. "I'm going to have to close it from the outside!" He yelled. "What- NO! YOU CANT!" You screamed, realizing what he would do. "COME WITH US AND WE'LL GO DOWN TO THE VERY LOWEST, WHERE ITS SAFE!" No use. He climbed out, then turned at the entrance, giving you that warm smile that always made your heat beat faster.
A small, sheepish smile.
Then he pulled himself out, grabbing the door and heaving it down. And before it slammed onto the hinges, you caught one last glance at his face. And he was still smiling.
The wind suddenly stopped, leaving you and your sister in a deathly silence that made you wonder if time had stopped.
Flashback end
2 hours later
You were in a car, being driven to a psychologist by your aunt, whom you have been living with since the disaster. She kept insisting it wasn't normal for you to grieve so much. she kept saying that you never would listen to her, that everything would be okay.
But saying "you'll get over it" is like a doctor telling you to get over a broken limb. In this case, it was a broken heart. So she brought you to a neighboring country, the only place where good psychiatrists existed. Your country was small and poor. It was also near impossible to to transit between the countries until a few days ago, when new border enforcements were rewritten.
You sigh as you get out of the car and entered the building. Ignoring the greeting from the person at the front desk, you sit down in a chair.your aunt apologizes for your actions and comes to sit down next to you after checking you in.
It had only been a few minutes before your aunt had a call. She answered it, a worried expression crossing her face. "What is it?" You asked when she hung up. "A friend of mine is in the hospital for a heart attack, will you be okay here by yourself?" She said "I'll be fine" you grumbled.
She left and you sat in the lobby, alone and waiting for your name to be called. After minutes that felt like hours a woman opened a door and called out your name. "You're going yo see mr.williams," she said making you feel a pang in your heart as you realized that he had the same last name as...
You were now dreading the conference. How would you be able to speak to someone who would be reminding you constantly of the reason for your depression? You gulped and silently followed the woman until she stopped by a door and said "Williams is in here. I'll leave you be now" and left.
You took a deep breath. You would just have to answer a few questions, not look him in the eye, and ignore everything he says. You knew that you should concentrate on recovering, but you didn't WANT to feel better. You felt almost as if you were disrespecting everyone who died that day. You wanted to be misrable because that was the only way you would feel.... right.
Exhaling you opened the door. 'Don't look him in the eye, just keep nodding along and don't answer anything honestly. And definately do NOT open up your emotio-' but what you saw made your heart stop. As he turned to look at you, your shock and disbelief edging every bit of his Blue eyes. Darkness threatened at the edge of your vision to make you faint and your breath got trapped in your lungs.
Because this mr. williams was the same one you lost all those months ago.
