Beyblade Flight

Prologue: Time to take Flight!

"Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome to the stage, WBBA's president Monika Black!" rang out the announcer's voice on the speakers.

People from all over the city had gathered to watch this live meeting. Monika Black was only fifteen but she had definitely done good things in the short time she was president. Times were changing, she knew that. It had been seven whole years since Valt Aoi had become the world beyblading champion. Monika walked out onto the stage with her assistant, Tokonatsu Aoi; Toko for short.

"Thank you, thank you! It means so much to me that you could all come today as we have made a very exciting discovery. Well, Wakiya Komurasaki made this discovery actually, but working together with him, has turned this discovery into a revolutionary item that can change the course of beyblade as we know it!"

People in the audience started chattering among themselves. What would be so great that could change beyblade? "Toko, if you would be so kind." Monika said as she turned to look at her assistant.

"Yes ma'am." Toko replied with a grin as he pressed some buttons on his tablet, and something showed up on the screen behind them; the lights turning off.

"As you can see, Wakiya Komurasaki made a breakthrough one day. He developed a NEW type of bey that we are calling, a Flight Beyblade." Toko paused for a moment. "With this, the goal of the game is no longer to get a burst finish. Why you might wonder? Well I'll tell you why! With Flight beyblades, the burst mechanic that was in beyblades up until now is no longer there. You see, beyblades are now much lighter, in doing so, it makes it much easier to knock the bey off balance and out of the ring."

The crowd was stunned at this revelation. Beyblades that don't burst? That was definitely going to take some getting used too that was for sure.

"And so you see..." Toko continued. "The goal of the game now, is to get a Ring-Out finish!"

While Toko was talking, images of the new Flight beyblades and their performances was playing behind him and president Monika. "With this, we ask Wakiya Komurasaki to join us on the stage!"

After a moment Wakiya walked out, joining Toko and Monika. "Thank you Toko and Monika."

"So, Wakiya, would you mind telling us about how you got the idea for your Flight beys?" Monika asked.

"I'm glad you asked Monika. Well, as you said earlier before we started this meeting, times are changing and that is certainly true. It's a rather funny story on how I got this idea actually." Wakiya replied. "See, one of my lab assistants accidentally dropped a beyblade on their foot during lunch, and complained to me about how heavy the beyblade itself was."

That earned a laugh from the crowd. "That was enough to prompt me to think 'what if beyblades were a lighter weight?' And that is how I thought of the new Flight beys."

Monika giggled. "I must say, these Flight beys certainly seem to be in high demand! Congratulations on this accomplishment, mr. Komurasaki." Monika said as she shook his hand.
