The last thought that races my mind is Shawn's face: his beautiful face.
I wake up clinging to Shawn in a pile of rubble. There was something in my hand. Glass? It didn't hurt much to be honest, it was the fact I knew it was there. Shawn was still knocked out beside me resting his head against the busted door frame. My mind tells me to speak: to scream for help, to shake him awake even, but my mouth doesn't move. A few people rush to our aid. I recognize one person as a body guard for Shawn who obviously never expected this.
Their words were muffled to where I couldn't hear them speaking. My heart pounded against my chest as I held a limp Shawn as close as possible.
I felt weak but even worse I felt pain. The kind of pain you feel when you lose a loved one. The pain that's equivalent to being stabbed in the face with a dull knife. I just felt pain. Pain for Shawn.
"Teagan are you ok? Are you hurt?" The body guard rushed his words as the two paramedics take me by the arms to hoist me up from my seated position.
"Shawn." Is all I can mutter before I'm shoved onto the tailgate of an ambulance.
"We're getting him. Don't worry. Your dad will be here soon." This guy sure did talk fast. It's either that or my mind is just too slow, right now especially!
He leaves me in a pile of my weakness and sprints towards Shawn and the car.
What would happen if Shawn died?
I don't mean like died, died but actually career died?
Because of me?
Is that possible?
Shut up, Teagan, he loves you. He wouldn't let that happen.
I decide against arguing myself to the death to keep what little sanity I have left.
I gaze off towards the car. A body bag is being sprawled out onto the concrete.
No, no, no, no...
"Shawn!" I scream as loud as humanly possible. "Shawn, no!"
I give up on screaming and run full force towards the scene. I clutch onto what dignity I have left and pull myself together somewhat.
"Shawn... Shawn no." I speak in a weak tone.
Two men turn around to reveal a slim, groggy faced boy.
"Teagan." His eyes twinkle as he pulls me into his warm embrace I missed so, so much.
