The man blinked away sleep from his eyes as he sat up in bed, raising his arms slowly to rub the fatigue from his vision. He had slept well for a change, something that he was quite cheerful about, even if he didn't really show it. He slid out of bed, making sure not to wake his still slumbering wife as he headed into their small closet and grabbed a button-up white shirt, a blood red tie, which he had wrapped loosely around his neck, and a pair of raggedy jeans, slipping them on quickly and exiting the room, closing it silently behind him. He then headed to their child's room, poking his head in and allowing his eyes to adjust to the dark. He heard the soft, methodical breathing of his six year old daughter emanating from the darkness and headed back out to the hallway, closing the door behind him once again.

Heading to the kitchen, he grabbed himself a small breakfast consisting of a couple of slices of toast quickly slathered with butter before heading to the door, still munching away, pulling on his muddied boots and rolling up his sleeves, staring at himself in the hallway mirror once more before leaning down, picking up his small briefcase and exiting the home.

Walking down the street, he slouched forward, the dreariness of the foggy morning really weighing down on him. He wasn't cut out for early rising.

Yawning as he entered the school grounds, he headed for the entrance just as a couple of girls, students, bustled past him, smiling and laughing away.

"Good morning Professor!" One of them shouted back at him. He waved unceremoniously, but perked up a bit. He really did enjoy his job, regardless of how much he whined about it.

Entering the massive estate-like school, he headed to the designated teacher's lounge and flopped down in his seat, leaning his head back to stare at the ceiling and sighing. "Too early in the damn mornin' to be workin' I tell ya."

"Perhaps a more optimistic outlook might help you along with your morning classes, Mr. Vivarian." The man across the lounge stated pointedly, his speech almost impossible to comprehend based on the mere speed.

"Gee, you think so Oobleck? Never would've guessed." He smirked. "Same lecture as every morning then?"

"So it would seem. Please do try to keep a more cheerful disposition around the children though Professor. It is more sightly for a man in your position." The tall man shot out that last phrase as he zipped out of the room, likely for his own class.

"Crazy guy." The man chuckled as he himself rose from his seat and headed out to the arena room, a place he had once taken his classes.

Once there, he sat down and checked his timetable to make sure that he was prepared for the first class of the day before pushing his office chair away from his desk and writing down a few notes for his lecture down on the blackboard that he had managed to drag into the room.

Having completed his preparation, he slid back over to his desk and started flipping through the news on his scroll, waiting for his students to arrive, some early, some right on time, others late, others still not at all. It didn't bother him either way.

As the aspiring hunters and huntresses arrived in the room, all shuffling over to their usual seats, he turned on the randomizer and looked around the room, counting those that had decided to show up to his class.

"So, any takers on first fight?" He asked nonchalantly.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Having watched a couple of battles, he decided it was enough of that and shut off the screen that hung from the room's ceiling.

"Alright, time for some actual learnin', yeah?" He stood from his seat with that announcement and walked to the blackboard, tapping the main subject he had written there with one of his rather unnecessarily long fingernails. "Close-quarters combat. Not as simple as everyone says it is. It takes a certain amount of strategic placement, footing and reading of your opponent's movements to really take advantage of CQC scenarios."
