Regret...

"So the lies had not stopped with the files and fake fiance. There was more so much more. How could she have done all that to me? Did she ever love me? Those eyes, those soulful eyes capable of such deception??"

Can looked at Sanem only a few feet away looking etherial in a lilac gown. She looked as if she was lit up from within, not a being of this world. She was so beautiful just looking at her hurt. If a man ever touched her, truely touched her, will she distintrigate?? Can shook his head as he finished yet another glass of wiskey.. How many had it been so far? Who cared? He had stopped counting after the call from Emre....

The party was currently in full swing. Compass Sport's campaign was god sent. They needed it so bad to get them all out of the tight spot they were in. He had had the best 2 days of his life working so closely with Sanem, driking in her amazing fragrance...why could he still smell the damn fragrance when she was so far away amidst such a hugh croud?? "Because the damn thing is the very air you breathe" came the jeering rejoinder... Can looked up from his umpteen number of glass and searched the crowd on the dance floor for Sanem... Only Sanem... And there she was swaying her lush body to the beat, my god was she an angel????But angels do not lie.. or do they???

"Can!! "....

Can looked up and spotted Gamze and Jayda entering the room. He didn't feel like talking to anyone but he had to mingle as the host of the party.. Again maybe talking to Gamze would clear the doubts and make him see things in perspective. Jayda siddled up to him and askd what was his poison..
" wiskey"
" oh a man after my own heart" she laughed softly.
" I'll have the same" she signaled the bartender..
Gamze looked at Can with a frown...
" Are you ok Can? You look a little off"
" I am great. Everything is just great..." Can took a quick sip before he continued "Maybe, maybe you can come back with me after the party. We need to talk? " Can looked almost desperate when he said that. Gamze nodded slowly, " Ofcourse Can. What are friends for.. "

" Can"..

It was too much for Can to hear her voice then. He felt suffocated and could not bear her fragrance. He had to escape before he did something he would regret for the rest of life. He could not face Sanem in this state. He had to talk to Gamze first...maybe only then...

" Would you like to dance Jayda?? "
His question shocked so many... Gamze, himself and above all Sanem. She looked like a puppy who had been kicked and Can felt..what did he feel? Good? Triumphant for having caused her pain? No.... He felt numb..

"I would love to... " Jayda pulled him to the dance floor and he followed her like a marionate..

" Something is very wrong" Gamze said aloud. She looked at Sanem with concern noticing just how pale she looked.
" What could possibly be? Maybe he didn't hear me call him and asked Jayda to dance.. It's only a dance Gamze.."
They both stood and looked at the man with concern in their eyes. One loved him like a brother she never had. For the other he was her life...
" Still I get the feeling that there is something.. He asked me to come back home with him. Had things to talk... "
Sanem stopped listening at the part where Can wanted Gamze to go home with him after the party... Her whole world was crumbling around her and she had no power to stop it..

" Oh Can you seem million miles away.. "
Jayda pouted at Can.
" Just work stuff... " Can replied distractedly looking at her but not really seeing her.
He looked at the bar and saw Gamze talking to Sanem..what were they talking about?? What lies were Sanem feeding her? I wish she had never come into my life..I wish I had never met her....Can stopped his vitriolic thoughts abruptly and shuddered. He needed to get away, away from such fake polite society and he needed to do it now....
" If you wanted me that bad, you only had to ask Can... " Jayda purred seductively.
What?? What was Jayda saying? He looked down at her and suddenly felt her lips on him...
the crowd stopped moving around them, the music stopped. It was as if the whole world held its breath... Then there was a deafening noise. Cheers went up but Can still heard nothing. He looked at the face of the one woman he had hurt with his foolishness..She looked stricken and his heart, his sorry excuse of a heart shriveled some more. He wanted to go to her and take her in his arms and wipe away all her tears. This was a mistake. He loved her too much. He could not bear the thought of being separated from her. He needed to go to her.. Needed to listen to her... Not Gamze, Sanem.. He needed to talk to Sanem...

He lookd up again, trying to search her amidst the croud. But she was no where... Where did she go?? Can wanted to tear his hair at his own stupidity. How could he have believed everything that Emre said and doubted Sanem. Hadn't he been proven wrong once already because of his rashness.. No he had to talk to her first... Yes they could solve all their problems together..

Somehow he extracted himself from the crowd and went out of the room. Sanem was not outside either. He looked everywhere but could not spot his angel.. Had she left? He felt like an utter fool... He rushed to the parking lot and immediately noticed the red bike missing. Did Sanem ride away in the scooter? An icy feeling settled in his gut....

He climbed into his truck and started the engine... His phone started to ring loudly...

"Osman!! " Can squinted at the screen. He didn't want to waste time talking to Osman about the modelling contract now..

He Disconnected the call and pulled out of the parking spot. He hadn't made it to the door of the building when his phone started to ring again...

Osman! Again..

"What?" He barked into the phone...

"Its Sanem.. "
Can jerked in his seat...
" What about Sanem.. "
"She met with an accident. She was riding the scooter without her helmet....
"Where is she? " Can all but roared into the phone...
" She is at the hospital... And Can...its bad!! "

Couldn't be couldn't be.. Alla couldn't be this cruel to him.. He never meant what he thought back at the party. His life would be meaningless if he lost Sanem. He would lose himself and no one would be able to find him..

He drove like a maniac breaking so many signals that he lost count...
Osman spotted him first and without a word ushered him to the doctor operating on Sanem...

"You have to save her. No matter what. Money is no issues. Just save her"

" We are trying our best... " the doctors assured before walking away...

He peered through the small window and saw her lifeless form lying on the bed. She was no longer lit up from within. I did that to her Can thought in anguish, I did that to her........
