My hands shook as the police officer handcuffed me. I thought about running away again but i quickly pushed those terrible ideas out of my head.

"Wait I have something to say." I said my voice quivering

"Silence! Anything you say now will be used against you in the court of law. You have the right to obtain a lawyer or an attorney." The police officer said with a firm tone.

I looked at the police officer in complete and utter confusion

I looked at Lucas who was now wearing a shirt to see if he understood this junk. Hmmmm when did that happen I thought ignoring the police officer's boring speech.

I guess I haven't been paying attention to my surroundings with all this drama going on.

"So when will I see you again." Lucas said with a little sadness in his voice

"I don't know maybe in a few years." I said sounding depressed

"Maybe they might let you go with a warning or reduce your time sentence." He said softly trying to find a way to cheer me up.

"Yeah right like i'll ever get out of here. With all these charges on my name I'll be here forever!" I said with a little sarcasm in my voice

Lucas gave a little nod and held my handcuffed hands. As his hands touched mine my heart started beating quickly and my stomach quivered with excitement. Hmmm that was weird. I've never felt like this before even with all the boys I've dated in high school.

The police officer returned separating Lucas and I. What a party pooper! He just had to ruin this special moment that Lucas and I were having.

"We have contacted your mom and scheduled your court date. Failure to attend this court date will result in probation or immediate arrest. We will place you in a holding cell until your mom gets here." The police officer said without taking a break.

Dang! Do they make them memorize all this junk???? As I got lost in my train of thought a familiar voice interrupted my thoughts. "Do I make myself clear?" The police officer asked

"Oh yeah...clear as crystal." I replied trying to add humor to this perplex scene.

The police officer did not look amused in fact he just stared at me like i was having a seizure or something.

Wow this guy has no sense of humor that was pretty funny. Okay now that I think about it wasnt that funny. I guess I was trying to stall so i wouldn't have to smell that depressing odor in the holding cell.

Just as the police officer was about to speak the front door of the police station busted wide open.

A lady was running around crazily. She's probably here to get her daughter who was arrested for drugs or something.

Wait a minute she looked very familiar but i couldn't see her face so I just observed the back of her head. She had long auburn hair just like me and was a little taller than I was.

"I'm here to get my daughter.Where is she!!!! Please I need to see her." she yelled frantically

"Calm down ma'am. We will get your daughter as soon as you sign the required paperwork." The police officer said trying to pry her hands off of his uniform.

"Please I need to see her!!!." she yelled sobbing uncontrollably.

As she turned her head my face drained color as I recognized who it was.

"Mom?" I asked in utter confusion.

She turned her head to me responding to my statement.

As she saw who it was she started running towards me. "Haliey!!!!" She screamed really loudly like she just won the lottery.
