FOUR

"Um kiera" Luke said to me "What happened between you and Michael?"

I was surprised he hadnt told Luke about me or at least about what had happened

"It was a foggy cold morning" I started off by saying, "the 11th of january of 2012, the day of my birthday. Unluckily it was a school day, but back then I had a massive crush on this boy in the grade above and liked school simply for the matter that i'd get to see him. I was turning 16 that day. My friends Georgia, Lauren and of course Elena tried to set me up with him. I thought that perhaps it would be better for a boy to speak to him about me since girls get a bit excited over that sort of matter. His name was Kyle and i remembered that Michael had once spoken to me about how they played basketball together. So since Michael was my best friend I thought that perhaps he wouldnt mind speaking to Kyle to give him a good impression of me.

Three years i had a crush on this guy for. Three fucking years and you know what Michael did? He went ahead and  asked the boy if he new about me, he said that he did and that he wanted to get to know me better, great so far right? okay, so Michael decided to tell him a bit about me which i thought would be great but instead he lied to him called me a slut, made shit up about me, said i hooked up with two boys at the same time which of course i never did, told him that i'd spoken crap about him behind his back and pointed out my flaws to him to make Kyle notice them. I remember Kyles face after speaking to Michael, that look of disrespect and disgust towards me. His words hit me like ten thousand knives all at once "I didn't know you were capable of doing such things" he mumbled and walked away never EVER looking at me in the eyes again. A year and a half I had to wait for Kyle to graduate so that I would stop seeing his face and die of embarassment each time, although I new everything Michael had said was a lie.

The worst thing of all though was that Michael lied to me and never told me why, which is the reason why today I still feel the urge to ask."

Luke shifted uncomfortably and I could tell he wasnt expecting me to tell him the whole story. I was furious, again, but remembered what I had said previously about forgetting the past and looking at the future.

"KIERAAAA" Michael yelled from inside the tent,

I couldnt help but smile at his adorable raspy voice.

"Hey, have you ever thought that the reason for Michael doing what he did was because he liked you and didnt want anybody else getting in the way of it?" Luke asked.

It all made sense to me now. "Maybe" I replied "but just why did he transfer schools, I mean yeah I stopped speaking to him, and we became very very distant but if he liked me he shouldnt have left me."

"Well you know what they say, if you love someone, set them free. If they come back, they're yours, and i mean you've managed to cross eachother lives again so..." Luke shrugged "that must mean something, or maybe not i dont know, but..." He went silent and looked down "Michael seems to be happier than i have ever seen him and according to this one beside me, you do too"

I giggled because of his reference to Elena and thought about what he had just said. After all maybe Michael and me were just meant to meet again.

Helloooo, i hope you guys are all enjoying my fic, sorry i dont upload chapters that often its just it gets hard to write at times and find inspiration.
