I was running home from my abusive ex- boyfriend's house after he'd hit me and threatened to kill me again. I was crying and I knew my arms, face and body were bruised and bleeding from his angry strikes. I could feel the blood from my lip running into my mouth and my wrists were bruised from his almost steel grip, then I heard the sound of motorbikes behind me. I didn't stop but I looked over my shoulder. There was a whole gang, I kept running, and then they stopped outside the building in front of me.
"I shouldn't be scared." I told myself and walked straight ahead but one of the guys looked at me so I stopped running and hid in the alley behind a dumpster. I heard footsteps and felt my heart race. I could also hear my pulse beating behind my ears. I closed my eyes and pulled my knees to my chest but my foot hit the dumpster and the sound rang out like a gunshot.
My pursuer found me.
"Hey there." he said and reached out to me, I slid back and crawled out the other side. I fell backwards then I saw a line of all the guys in the gang at the entrance of the alley. One of them wolf whistled at me I was so scared. The guy that found me came over to me, I was trapped.
"Get away from me." I said as he once again reached out to me.
"What happened?" he asked me.
"Why do you care?" I asked pushing past him, I tried pushing past the other guys as well but two of them grabbed hold of my arms.
"LET ME GO!" I screamed as they dragged me towards the building.
When they took me inside, they pushed me to the floor in front of an older man.
"Ah!" I cried as I hit the floor. The man walked over to me and asked the other gang members "Did you hurt this girl?"
"No Clay," the guy that found me told him. "I just found her."
"Please," I sobbed. "I just want to go home."
"What's your name?" Clay asked me and I said while sliding away from him
"I don't think I should tell you that." he walked toward me and reached out to me. He took my hand and helped me to my feet I stepped back.
