Chapter One; The Move Out

Aunt Carol always talked about moving out of bakersfield for the longest time. we both had not many people to talk to. neighbors never really seemed to like is after the incident we had. so Aunt Carol made it loud and clear; "WE ARE MOVING TO A NEW TOWN NAMED, 'Quietville'!".

I was shocked, for a long time. I was so happy. That I was finally going to make some new friends for the first time. A fresh start. As I was listening to music, while also packing my room up, Aunt Carol came in and started talking while she was helping. I wasn't listening to every thing she was saying at first. All I heard was "A young boy..blah blah blah.. be careful.. blah blah blah.. And the high school is called 'Quiet High'.". I didn't really think it was important so I kept packing my stuff.

As I was going through my closet, I found a picture of my mother, father, brother and me. On the back of the picture it said, "3-6-2002, Claire, Jacob, Marcus and Alexandra, New House !" I felt my eyes swell up with tears. But I didn't let them fall. 30 minutes pass by, I finished packing my closet. Finished packing all my old photos. Old worn out clothes. Gross used make-up. And most of all, my paintings. Aunt Carol helped me bring the boxes down stairs, and into the moving truck. I helped her move all of her boxes, all of her old antiques, and most of all, we both pushed the piano into truck. We both took one last look around the house, grabbed moxie, and shut the door. Aunt Carol locked the house, threw the key into the neighbors trash can, and we both bolted into the truck, and drove off. Passing the house that the incident happened, Passing by the high school I used to go to. Passing by the bakery I used to go to everyday after school. Then finally passing a sign on the highway that said "Thank you for staying in 'bakersfield'!! We hope to see you back again !!" I'm Alex, short for Alexandra. I'm 17 and this is my story, so far.
