Chapter Three

I slid to the wall and pulled my knees to my chest. I was shaking and sobbing, I rested my head on my knees. Then Jax came over to me, he bent down in front of me and put his hands on my shoulders.

"Hey," he said softly. "It's alright. We don't have to do anything, I won't force you." I looked up into his honest blue eyes. He seemed to be telling the truth and I knew liars. Jax wasn't one. Well as far as I could tell anyway.

"You promise?" I asked shyly. He nodded and said

"I promise." then I hugged him. He hugged me back and he stayed with me all night. I woke up on the bed in Jax's arms when Suzy walked in carrying two plates with some toast on them and two glasses of water. She placed them down on the table in the corner of the room.

"Here," she said kindly. "I thought you might be hungry."

"Thanks Suzy." Jax said.

"No problem." Suzy said smiling at both of us. Then she left, locking the door behind her as Clay must have told her to.

"Jax?" I asked softly.

"Yeah Darlin'?" he asked looking down at me.

"When can I leave?" I asked.

"You can't," Jax said sadly. "Not on Clay's watch."

"Please," I begged. "I have to go home my sister will be worried about me."

"What's your sister's name?" Jax asked.

"Nadine."

"She has a pretty name too." he said and I smiled.

"Yeah," I said. "She does, and she's the only person I have left in the world after my mom died. My dad took off before I was born. I never knew what happened to him."

A few minutes later I heard gunshots outside the clubhouse and I heard Suzy scream.

"What's happening?" I asked.

"Must be another war proposition from the Mayans." Jax said before Clay came and opened the door.

"Jax!" he said.

"What is it?" Jax asked.

"The Mayan's." Clay said.

"Shit!" Jax hissed and Clay said

"Come on we need you." then Jax turned to me.

"Stay here," he whispered. "I'll be back I promise." then he kissed my head and ran out with Clay I hid under the bed again.
