Sixteen

-y/n pov-

I walk back into magnolia, tired but determined.

I was on a job in Oshibana for the past 3 weeks but master called me over a Lacrima saying it was an emergency. He told me how Laxus had lost it, he told me everything that Laxus was doing like how Evergreen had turned the girls to stone and that Natsu couldn't fight since he was stuck inside Fried's enchantment so he had no hope at beating Laxus and that he needed me to come home as fast as I could to help. I instantly stopped what I was doing and caught the train back home, despite my absolute hatred for the train that was the fastest way to get home.

The train didn't take too long luckily so I arrived fairly quickly, but since the whole town of Magnolia was under Laxus's spell the trains couldn't enter the town so I had to get off one station earlier and run. As I ran closer to Magnolia I could see the thunder palace set up in the sky, an enchantment barrier from Fried was set up as well not allowing anyone inside or out.

'Good thing Levy gave me countless lessons on this kinda thing!' I think to myself and quickly remove the enchantment so I could get into town.
I wasn't very good with enchantments but I knew the basics which I should be extremely grateful for now considering I needed to use that ability.

Once I was inside I made a B line for Kardia cathedral, having a feeling that would be where Laxus would hide. Once I got close enough to the others I must have been in range of what I'm assuming is Warren's telepathy, my head filling with the voices of everyone yelling at each other via the telepathy, but before I had time to speak up Lucy cut in, making everyone shut up with a heart warming speech.

Everyone was congratulating her for being so strong and having so much spunk, I could practically hear the smile on her face. I remained silent as I walked straight into the cathedral where Laxus sat so high and mighty, already knowing how he worked I knew he was trying to act like the god he wished he were.

"What do you think you're doing?" I ask sternly, catching his attention. I see his smile drop instantly the second he saw me, not expecting me to be here.
"I could ask you the same thing" he says, replacing his precious smirk with a fake one.
"You should know you're not allowed to participate since you weren't in town when the game began" he smirks.
"I'm not here to play Laxus, cut the shit." I warn.
"Hey is that y/n?" I hear some members asking over the telepathy.
"You all need to get to safety, I'll take down the thunder palace all on my own. I won't let any one of you fall" I say confidently over Warrens telepathy, stopping everyone from what they were doing.

I hear people cheer out, others question what I meant and some tell me not to but I didn't listen to them, too focused on the task at hand.

"Y/n stop it! You wouldn't dare" laxus says seriously, standing up to fight me.
"Too late" I say, turn around and move my arm straight across my body, as the lacrima explode one by one in a chain reaction.
I should have known Erza was too fast for me, she was always thinking ahead so when I had sent my attack out she sent off some of her swords to help out with the take down of the thunder palace. The few others that were prepared also sent a few attacks at some lacrima, assisting as well. Laxus erupts with anger knowing we just single-handedly ruined his plan.

"I won't let you hurt my family anymore than you already have" I say glaring at the lightning mage before the body link magic gets me.
I hear everyone scream my name or crying out 'no' but I drop to my knees, fighting the erge to collapse as exhaustion hits my like a tidal wave.
Erza and the few others that had helped were also shot down.

-Natsu's pov-

Y/n stood in front of Laxus being electrocuted by over 300 lighting lacrima, screaming in agony and there was absolutely nothing anyone could do. When the lightening stopped she collapsed, I reached my arms out and caught her just before she hit the ground somehow managing to get to her on time.

"Y/n you idiot! I can't believe you did that" Laxus screams in anger to her , I place her gently on the ground near a pillar to keep here safe, the rage growing inside me by the second seeing her electrocuted body so defeated.

Laxus growls in frustration as she lays on of the ground, hearing her voice.

"I-I d-did it though. And y-your plan failed" She stutters, a small smile on her face.
I pat her head softly, smiling at her.
"You're brave y/n, I'm so proud of you" I say before knocking her out so she didn't have to suffer any longer.

"I can't believe she did it" I hear people say over Warrens telepathy.
"I-is she okay!?" Erza screams, chocking back her own pained gasps.
"I-I think so" Gray says concerned.
"She spoke so she isn't dead" Warren says behind me.
"The town is safe, we did it you guys!!" Happy calls out excitedly.

Soon everyone begins to cheer with joy in the background completely forgetting the fact Laxus was still here completely unscathed.

"You see, I told you it wouldn't work" I say seriously, staring at Laxus furiously.
"You're going to pay for this!" Laxus screams angrily.
He quickly raises his hand and shoots a lightning bolt towards me, I jump out of the way and land on the ground with ease.

"You're going t-" I begin but get cut off by the screams of y/n. I instantly turn and see the lightning electrocuting her.
"Y/N!! You bastard what are you doing?!" I scream and punch him in the face with firey fists but he punches me away with his other hand.
"I said she would pay!" He growls out.
"She's hurt Laxus! You're fighting me! Bring it on asshole!" I shout back, even more angry then before.

The two of us throw punches at each other over and over, shooting attacks where we could until finally I had managed to overpower him.

After I kicked his sorry ass I went back downstairs and found y/n. She was still in the same place I had left her from laxus' attack. I run over to her relieved that she was still breathing.

"Are you alright n/n? You've had a bad day" I ask concerned, not expecting her to reply.
"I-I-I'm p-proud o-of you" She croaks barely audible.
"Oh you're awake?" I say amazed snapping my head down to look at her.
"Mm" she hums out.
I picked her up gently to make sure I didn't hurt her anymore than she already was.
"I'm going to take you to the guild so we can heal you, you put up a good fight you dummy, don't worry me like that" I say quietly into her hair as I nuzzle my face into it.
"I-I wanted to ke-keep you and the others safe" she smiles weakly and wraps her arm weakly around my neck.
"You did well" I sigh and walk quickly but I make sure she doesn't get hurt.
"You b-beat him?" She mumbled softly.
"Sure did" I smile happily.
"You're ge-getting stronger, look at you go" she smiles happily up to me, still struggling to speak.
"Save your energy" I say looking down at her, shes so beautiful even when she's all beat up.
