It's going to take some getting used to. Well, it's going to take Yoongi a lot of time to get used to. The fact that when he wants to rest his hand on Namjoon's hip, he can, and Namjoon wants him to, is still so new. He can kiss his cheeks, he can runs his hand through his hair, he can do anything.
But it's only been a few minutes. He has to take it slow.
When they came back in, firework show now just small sparks, the group instantly knew what had gone down. They were loudly supportive, almost too much so, saying things such as "oh my god, finally" and "I thought you two would never get over yourselves". Yoongi has never felt so full yet so yearning in his life.
They aren't even holding hands when they stand around each other in the kitchen, but there's this phantom pressure on Yoongi's right hand, and that's good enough for him.
"So..." Jungkook taps the fingers of his hand he's leaning on against the counter with. Even from where he's standing next to Yoongi, he can tell this isn't a question he wants to answer. "Who made the first move?"
"None of your business, brat," he jabs fondly, eliciting a whining "hyung!" from the younger. "But since I know you won't let this go... Namjoon-ah technically did."
Yoongi cringes from a "Totally called it!" from Jungkook. Behind him, Tae hands Jimin what Yoongi can only assume is at least 20,000 won. Of course.
"Wait... what do you mean by technically, hyung?" Jungkook blinks at him.
"Do you not know how to keep your mouth shut?" He says, scowling to hide the sparkly eyes that he knows he has.
"I just wanna find out from you, not from the other hyungs," Jungkook pauses, tone respectful. He completely sees through Yoongi's facade. "But I totally get it if you don't want to share details."
Yoongi heaves a sigh and rubs he bridge of his nose. "Fine. Namjoon-ah confessed first, but I,"
He pauses. He doesn't know when he started smiling. "I'm the one who kissed him."Jungkook is strangely silent, so Yoongi looks over at him to makes sure he's okay. A silent Jungkook can either mean something really good (that he's actually thinking before he speaks) or not so good (he's overthinking and can't get out of his own head). He's greeted with the sight of Jungkook looking over at Hoseok with starry eyes, face open and hopeful. It really is quite endearing, and Yoongi knows that look like he knows the back of his hand. He's been guilty of it before.
"You should wait 'til New Years, if you're going to tell him," Jungkook snaps his gaze away from Hoseok to his face, looking at Yoongi like he's just been caught doing something he shouldn't have. "Hobi-ah likes that kind of stuff. Especially since the American tradition is that you kiss when the ball drops."
Jungkook's eyes get wide before his cheeks go pink, throat catching on something, making him cough and sputter. Yoongi pats his back.
"I was there once too, Kook-ah. Don't sweat it," Jungkook looks at him with a pathetic look and then whines into his hands. "Seriously. And don't wuss out of it like I did. Shoot your shot."
He wants to tell Jungkook, "I know you won't get hurt because Hobi-ah has been gushing about you since forever but has never had the guts to tell you. He's just as afraid as you are", but he knows it's not really his place to say. So Instead, he rubs Jungkook's back for a few moments more before Jungkook straightens up and sighs.
"How long?" There's a pause before Jungkook registers what Yoongi is asking.
"I'm sorry?" Jungkook looks at him confusedly, still flushed from embarrassment and hacking up a lung.
