Chapter 1

Artemis

Two weeks after the end of Shattered

Afterthe loss of our brother and comrade, the hunt was devastated. When Zoe died, the air was thick. Once again, the atmosphere was heavy with sadness. Who knew that a boy-no man-Perseus wasn't a boy- could change the hunt so much?

Phoebe was in a state of rage you could say. It happened after Zoe's death as well. She wanted someone to blame. Currently she wanted to go and hunt down every single titan and stab them to death. I wanted to as well, but it was better for our safety to stay in one spot.

Currently where we camped, a river wound around us, protecting us from three sides unless if our enemies attacked from the water.

I wondered how all those titans had managed to rise without any of us knowing. It was worrying. Now that Percy, one of our most powerful demigods was gone, Olympus was in panic. Everyone was preparing for war. Hephaestus was making hundreds of new swords every day. Ares or Mars was actually teaching some of the younger demigods in both of the camps how to fight without concern about the Ancient Laws. I found that extremely surprising.

It was so different now. Everyone was preparing for a battle that might or might not come. The seas were restless and angry. Storms were crashing down on mortals. I almost pitied them.

I felt bad for my uncle. The death of his son happened right before his very eyes and he couldn't do anything about it but watch because he was restrained...with water. That must have been the ultimate insult to him.

However, with Oceanus gone, he wouldn't have to worry about an attack on his kingdom from the titans for at least another millenia.

I looked up at the sky, trying to find the Huntress and the Hunter. That was what we were calling Percy's constellation now. I couldn't find them. I looked again. There was Ursa Minor and Ursa Major...Gemini...the Hydra...Leo...Cancer...They were gone. How could their constellations disappear?

Feeling slightly panicked, I went to Thalia, hoping that she could find them. Thalia came quickly.

"What is it milady?" I noticed the sad look in her eyes that I saw on all my hunters. I remember hearing Percy saying "Fate is fate" right before his death. Those were my words. Although I could barely pick them up even with my godly hearing, I knew what he meant. He wouldn't want us to think about him too much. I recalled that he thought very much about the deaths that he witnessed. It probably wasn't just that. That Annabeth girl betrayed Olympus. That must have hurt a great deal. I still couldn't really wrap my mind around that. A girl betraying a boy? I had never heard of such a thing.

"Um...milady?" Thalia asked uncertainly. I shook my head, freeing myself from my reverie and getting back to the subject at hand.

"Thalia, can you spot the Hunter or the Huntress?" I questioned her. My lieutenant gazed up into the star filled sky for a moment, her eyes roaming across it.

After a bit she said, "No. What about you milady? Can you find them?"

"I can't locate them either. It is...unsettling," I replied with a bit or worry showing in my voice.

"Do you want me to call some of my other sisters here to see if they can find them?" Thalia asked.

I nodded in response.

Thalia ran off into a tent and soon the word spread. In almost no time at all, the entire hunt was outside and gazing at the sky.

"Aren't they supposed to be around Cancer, the Hydra, and Leo?" One of my hunters asked.

I nodded my head.

A thought crossed my mind. Krios was the titan of constellations. He was just defeated though. Could it be possible that he is controlling the constellations even while in Tartarus? He shouldn't be able too. I shook my head to clear it. No...that couldn't happen because if the titans did have their powers in Tartarus, they would have broken out easily.

"We can't find them" Daisy spoke sadly.

It pained me to see all of my girls depressed. Daisy didn't seem to enjoy her Nutella at the dinner table as much as she used to. Nicole was reading fewer books. I could tell that they all thirsted to avenge their fallen brother. I did as well, but we couldn't. I cared too much for them to put them in danger. The only reason Zeus let us stay in the wilderness instead of Camp Half-Blood was because I promised to take every caution.

I sighed. It was time for another Counsel Meeting. I had to inform them about the missing constellations. No...they weren't only constellations. They were actual souls. Well most were souls. I don't understand why they put that bastard Heracles in the sky. He wasn't even dead. Although Heracles's soul wasn't up there, Orion's was. I could imagine Zoe kicking his butt for me.

Back to the topic at hand, now that both the Hunter and the Huntress constellation was missing meant that their souls were somewhere else.

"Girls, I must inform the Counsel of this immediately. It is time for bed for those of you that don't have night watch," I said.

I got various goodnights as my hunters proceeded to their tents. Taking one more hopeful glance at the sky, I teleported to Olympus.
