Dunwich

Opening my car door I am greeted with cold air and I step out onto the gravel. Walking to the administration trailer, I check in and head for the cave. I stop in the locker room and put on my environmental suit, it fits on like a glove. I look at myself in the mirror and walk out of the locker room and head for the elevator. I press the old looking buttons and the elevator starts in motion, going down. It's a few good minutes before I get down into the mine. Walking past all the excavated stuff I find the crew and one of them yells to me.
"Hey! T.J!"
"What's up Brandon!" I yell back. The crew is currently working on excavating more of the mine, further in. The air gets unbreatheable down here so that's why we have our gas filters in our suits. I head to my station and start chipping away at the rock with my pick. Next to me is Megan. Medium size girl, black hair and freckles. Also tan skin. She starts a chat.
"Hi T.J, how've you been?"
"Good, what about you?"
"Pretty happy. Finally almost have enough money to move out of my parents place."
"That's nice to know." I say, eyeing her in her suit. After a decent amount of work is done, we all have breaktime and head to the entrance where the elevator is and take off our gas filters. We all sit down on a carved out rock slab and start chatting while having some food.
"How are the kids?" I ask Sam.
"They're doing good. What about your baby?"
"He's still kickin mama from inside." We chuckles and turn our attention to Leon who is gobbling away at his beef jerky.
"Be careful or you'll choke. Plus isn't that stuff expensive?" Sam asks.
"First off, im not gonna choke on this stuff and yeah it's expensive but it tastes so good."
"He's right." Dustin chimes in.
"All of you carnivores, I bet y'all would eat up all the jerky at the market if it was free." Sarah says.
"I can agree on that." Brittney joins in. And as she says that all the lights turn off and the red, emergency lights turn on. The tunnels are dark.
"What happened now?" Dustin says looking behind him.
"Probably just power problems." Brandon says.
"How about T.J and Dustin go check it out?" Sarah suggests.
"Sure." Me and Dustin say at the same time. So we put on our gas filters and head into the mine. We were originally able to support power from the surface but we got deeper so we had to get some generators down here. Turning the corner into a narrow hallway, we walk into the space with the generators. Dustin switches on and off the power switch but nothing happens. So I press the power button on the generators and it barely starts.
"No more gas." I say to myself. As I'm opening the gas canister, I stop and see Dustin has heard it too. It sounded like metal dragging on rock, so me and him crouch and get behind the generators. It gets closer until it reaches our space. I'm probably looking like I'm about to piss my pants and so is dustin. The sound stops and we can faintly hear walking over to us. I'm about ready to run when I hear a scream and scream also, Dustin jumping and bumping into me. Then I hear laughing from the darkness.
"Haha, you 2 got so scared!" And I realize it's Brandon.
"Damn dude, come on you almost gave me a heart attack." Dustin says in a shaky voice.
"But anyways, we just need gas in the generators." I say, and I continue opening up the gas canister and pour it into my generator while Dustin is pouring his into his generator. After the generators are full, we close the lids and start them again. All lights in the mine start to flicker back on and we feel relived, so the 3 of us head back to our little spot. But on the way there, we see 4 shadowy figures by a wall, so we decide to go check it out, peeking around a corner we see what looks like 4 teens. A blonde guy, a black haired guy and 2 girls with identical straight brown hair and pale skin. So we all say
"Hey!" And they get scared and are stuck in place. Walking up to them, we turn them around and have a look at them, they're all shaking and we smile
"What are you kids doing here?" The blonde one responds with
"I'm Jake, and this is my buddy Cole." The 2 brown haired girls look at each other and then says
"I'm Chloe and this is trinity." We're surprised how how they answered so honestly. Dustin speaks
"Well, you better scram before we report you. How did you get down here anyway?"
"There's a little cave with a passageway leading into the mine. It's all dark and looked untouched though." Jake says.
"Well, I'd suggest to get back there and get out if you don't wanna be fined." Brandon says.
"We'll be leaving now then." Cole says.

Meanwhile, on the surface.
"Are you ready 47?"
"Yes I am."
"Ok. Let it blow." 47 proceeds to push the handle down. And the explosives are detonated.

Underground...
"Ok, well, b—" Chloe is interrupted by the sounds of rumbling and if I guessed it would have to be at the entrance. So Dustin, Brandon and me all run to the entrance only to realize the teens are following us. We don't pay them much attention and come to the sight of our group surrounding a boulder and wailing coming from it. I walk over to the group and push them aside seeing the sight of Sam. His leg is stuck under the boulder and he's wailing for help.
"Oh god please it hurts please please someone help." Which is followed by a few painful moans.
"Ok, everybody try pushing this thing off of him!" I say and everybody even including the teens try to push the boulder but it won't budge.
"Ok somebody, try to help me pull him out." I say, and Brandon comes over grabbing one shoulder and me grabbing the other. We pull but all it does is hurt Sam more. I look around and see no other options.
"If we wanna get him out, we're gonna have to amputate his leg." I hear a shriek from Sam and he passes out on the floor, just laying there motionless. It makes it easier though as it's like he's on anesthesia.
"Megan, go find a first aid, and if any of you have belts, give them to me, now." 2 people start taking off their belts which are Brandon and Dustin. I take them and tighten them around the upper part of Sam's leg. Megan comes back running with a first aid box and a fire axe.
"I have no idea why the fire axe was in the utility locker but it'll do for a tool." So I grab the axe and take the bandages inside the box. I hold the fire axe ready to swing away at Sam's leg, I raise the fire axe up and slam it down on his leg.
