A Makeover

BEEP. BEEP. BEEP. I groan, and my eyes flutter open slowly. I quickly turn off my alarm clock, and throw my legs over the side of the bed. I get up, take a quick shower, and put a cute outfit on. I look in my mirror, I do my hair, and my makeup. I check the time, and I have plenty of time to get to work. Good! I stroll out, and past me, runs my friend, Sonny, with a panicked look on his face. I can tell his hair is messy, although it is concealed by a backwards hat. His cheeks are bright red from running in the sun.

"I'm late, I'm Late, Hi, Y/n, I'm Late!"

I wave at him, as he rushes away, towards the mom & pop stop and shop, as Usnavi calls it. I let out a small chuckle as he is getting farther and farther from my sight. Sonny is always late. I continue my stroll along the stone pathway, trees lined on the edge of the street. Eventually, I make my way up to Usnavi's store, and he hands me a coffee.

"Hey, Y/n are you busy tonight?" He asks

"No, I don't have any plans, why?" I feel my cheeks heat up. Is he gonna ask me out?

"Well, Daniela, Carla, Sonny, Benny, Vanessa, and I are all going to the club. Wanna join us? The salon ladies suggested it! You've been in Tennessee for the past week! How was your trip? How's your brother?"

"Oh," I say, trying not to sound disappointed, "Yeah, that sounds great, I'll be glad to join you guys! My trip was great, thanks for asking!"

"Yo!" A guy with tan skin, curly hair, wearing a white shirt and a black tie comes around the corner.

"Benny!" I exclaim, happily.

"Y/n!" He smiles wide, "You're home! How was Tennessee?" My best friend runs up and wraps his arms around me. He is the only person who knows about my crush on Usnavi.

I giggled, and told him that my trip was fun and how great it was to see B/n (Brother's Name). I grab my phone out of my back pocket, and check the time. 5 minutes till work.

"Benny, let's catch up later, I have to get to the salon!"

He nods and waves goodbye.

"C' ya later Usnavi! You too Sonny!"

"Bye Y/n" Usnavi smiles "See you later!"

"C' ya Y/n" Sonny waves me goodbye.

I wave goodbye, and start towards the salon, where I'm working for the moment.

"Y/n, you're home!" Carla says, looking up. Daniela, Carla, and Vanessa rush over to me and start bombarding me with questions.

"How was your trip?"

"What did you do?"

"Hows B/n?"

"Did you have fun?"

"Are you going to the club tonight with us?" Daniela suddenly brings up. "Us and Usnavi wanted to ask you!"

I smile at the ladies, "Yes I had a good trip. it was fun, B/n is great, and I did a lot. Usnavi asked me to go to to the club with you guys, so yes, I am going!"

Daniela's eyes widened. "Usnavi asked you to go with him? So ya'll are going together? Like as a date?"

"No me diga!" The other girls said, smiling.
