Doing what is right and not what you want has always been expected of Carmen Rivers. With her parents going bankrupt, she is offered a way to save her family’s reputation and return them to their former fortunes. Marrying the son of her Fathers friend and uniting the two families sounds easy enough and once she works out his plan, it's too late to do anything about it. Now she is in too deep, easily finding a place in his world of darkness she can't escape from unless she seeks to ruin herself and her family.
The temptation to do just that comes in the form of Mason Rogers who convinces her she can have and deserves a better life - with him. Everyone has secrets and when mixed with the pursuit of a new life, who will survive?
