Meeting Mai Valentine again

"Huh! I knew guys could be dirty as pigs. Didn't know they dressed the part. Hope you duel better than you smell, you swine." The blonde woman scoffed at Joey. Now her voice disturbingly reminded Lea of Mai's! 
"You know what I like about butterflies? They don't talk!" Joey snapped, before he and the woman looked at each other, prepared to duel. 
"Let's duel!" They both announced together, before Joey drew his card from his duel disk. 
"This card'll clip her wings, and win us the Niwatori prize card." He announced in determination, before he summoned his monster. 
"Flame Swordsman!" 
"Have I got a girl for you?" The woman remarked, before she drew her card from her duel disk and summoned her monster. 
"Harpy Lady!" 
At the sight of Harpy Lady, Lea could definitely tell that the woman was Mai! 
"Harpy Lady? I have definitely seen her before. Ah, the Swordsman'll take her." Joey scoffed, before the Flame Swordsman charged at Harpy Lady. 
"I knew it. Pigs don't know trap cards." The woman muttered to herself, before she pulled out her trap card. 
"Mirror Wall!" She summoned, which made Joey surprised when he just saw the Flame Swordsman's sword stab the wall.
"No! The Mirror Wall reflects my Swordsman's strike right back at him!" He exclaimed in disbelief, before he realized what was going on as his life points went down to 900. 
"Hey! I've seen this strategy before!" He exclaimed, in realization. 
'Mai always used that combo!' 
"Can it be?" Yugi asked, as he realized who it was! 
"It must be!" Lea exclaimed, before the woman laughed to herself. 
"My Harpy Lady really knows how to bring home the bacon!" 
"Ok, that's it! There's only one Duelist that could be this annoying!" Joey snapped, angrily. 
"Ready for the big finish?" The woman taunted, as she held up the card, which appeared to be a whip! 
"Rose whip attack!" She commanded, before Joey suddenly removed his pig mask. 
"Hold on!" 
After Joey removed his mask, the woman's eyes widened, so she stopped her Harpy Lady from attacking, "Stop attack!" 
"Joey, is that you?" The woman asked, as she removed her butterfly mask, and who it appeared to be was Mai! 
"My god! It is Mai!" Lea exclaimed, happily. 
"What are you doing here, Mai?!" Yugi exclaimed amazedly, before he jumped out from the steps, with Lea and Mokuba following suit. 
"Yugi, Mokuba, Lea! I'm... testing this game for some suits at Kaiba Corp." Mai answered, a bit sheepishly. 
"Listen, you could be in danger, Mai." Joey warned. 
"Yeah, those suits kidnapped my big brother." Mokuba chimed in, before Lea nodded. 
"Kaiba's in a temple across the desert. They trapped his mind in this virtual game." Yugi chimed in, in explanation. 
"Kaiba's here?" Mai asked, before Yugi nodded. 
"And we need the Niwatori card to cross the desert so we can rescue him." 
"That's the prize card for this match." Mai told him, before the crowd began shouting impatiently for Joey and Mai to keep fighting. 
"Uh, I know this crowd's a fake, but they look really mad to me. We might have a problem getting out of here without finishin’ the duel. Besides, even if we do escape, we still won't find Kaiba without that Niwatori card." Joey remarked, a bit nervously. 
"Well, I'm not so sure about crossing a desert. But I'm over this place, and I'm positive that I can get that Niwatori card." Mai winked, before she commanded her Harpy Lady. 
"Harpy Lady, use rose whip!" She commanded, before Harpy Lady used her whip to grab the Niwatori card, surprising the toad as he tried to grab it back. 
"The Niwatori!" He exclaimed, just as Mai grabbed the Niwatori card. 
"Uh-oh! We're in trouble now!" Joey warned the others, when he discovered that the crowd was chasing after the gang. Mokuba grabbed Lea's hand as he and the others began running away. 
"Run for it!" Mai urged. 
"Don't let em go!" The toad shouted, before Joey threw his pig mask at him. 
"We gotta reach the desert!" Mokuba urged. 
"Oh, this is much better than dueling!" Joey remarked, just as the crowd was chasing after the gang. 
The gang just kept running until Joey turned around to face the crowd and drew his card. 
"Enough! Crowd control time! Go, Trap Hole!" He commanded, before the crowd began falling inside the underground. 
"By the time they get around this, we'll be across the desert!" Joey announced to the gang, before he began running back to catch up with them. 
"Ok, time to see if this card'll work like the old man said it would. Will you do the honors, Mai?" Joey asked Mai a favor. 
Mai nodded as she pulled out the Niwatori card, and the four Niwatoris appeared. 
"Let's giddy up!" Joey announced, before he and the others began climbing up on the Niwatoris. But before Mai climbed up, Lea suddenly walked over to her. 
"Hey, Mai." Lea called out, before Mai faced her, curiosity filling her face. 
"Oh, hey, Lea. What's up?" 
"Nothing, just that... You changed since the last time I saw you." 
Mai smiled and said, "You too. Even though you're still the same cutie as you were the last time I saw you." 
Lea slightly blushed, and she moved her eyes from side to side while saying shyly, "Well, thank you, I guess." 
"You're welcome. Oh, and by the way..." 
"What?" Lea questioned, before Mai knelt down to her height so she can whisper in her ear. 
"You and Mokuba are really cute together, and I hope I'll be able to make it to your future wedding." 
After she said that, she pulled away and winked at Lea. Then Mai stood up to her feet so she can climb up on one of the Niwatoris. Lea just stood there for a moment, blushing a bit. Just, the thought of marrying Mokuba was just too much for Lea. But to shake the feeling off, she began climbing on one of the Niwatoris that Mokuba was riding in, and she sat behind him and held on to his waist tightly so that she wouldn't fall off. 
Then the Niwatoris began riding off, and Joey suddenly asked Mai, "So you're saying KaibaCorp. paid you to come here, Mai?" 
"That's right." Mai nodded. 
"Wonder why?" Joey asked, confusedly. 
"Probably to test it. To make sure everything would go according to plan when they used it on my brother. Still, they couldn't have planned it on all of us." Mokuba observed, before he suddenly saw something. 
"Look over there!" He exclaimed, which caught Lea's attention. 
"What is it?" She questioned, before a huge sandstorm suddenly rose from the sand, and it shocked everyone. Lea just buried her face into Mokuba's back. 
"It's an earthquake!" Mai exclaimed, fearfully. 
"No! It's something worse! It's another obstacle programmed into the game!" Yugi corrected, as some vines also came out from the ground. 
"What is it?" Joey questioned, before things just got even more worse. 
"Oh no! It's a sandstorm monster!" 
"We're never gonna get past that!" Mokuba exclaimed, and Lea just hugged him more tightly from behind and trembled in fear. 
"All right then, I'll take over the sand castle with my Red Eyes Black Dragon!" Joey announced, before he summoned his Red Eyes Black Dragon, and he appeared. 
"Red Eyes Black Dragon, inferno fire blast!" Joey commanded his monster, before it breathed its fire on the sandstorm monster, and he disappeared for good. 
"YEAH!!!" The others cheered. 
"And buh-bye." Joey announced tauntingly, before the sandstorm suddenly disappeared. 
"Look! Through the dust! Do you see what I see?" Mai exclaimed, as she saw something that caught her attention. 
"Some sort of ancient temple, that must be what we're looking for." Yugi realized, before Mai turned to face Mokuba. 
"Is that where they're keeping Kaiba?" She asked. 
"An old woman told us it was the temple across the desert, so that's gotta be it! Seto's gotta be there!" Mokuba answered, before the Niwatoris started running towards the temple. 
"Go, drumsticks!" Joey commanded, and Lea rolled her eyes a little at the nickname Joey gave the Niwatoris. 
"Uh, guys. Joey named his chicken." Mai told the others. 
"It's a Niwatori, Mai." Joey retorted. 
"Whatever." Mai rolled her eyes. Lea giggled a little. 
The Niwatoris just kept running to the temple until they finally reached it. 
"Wow! Look at the size of that thing!" Joey exclaimed, in awe. 
"Phew, here at last." Mai commented, a bit exhausted. 
Then Mokuba hopped out of his Niwatori, with Lea following suit. 
"Mokuba! Lea! Hold up!" Joey exclaimed
"I'm coming, Seto!" Mokuba announced, as Lea ran after him. 
"Mokuba, wait!" 
"There's no stoppin' em. Come on, or else we're gonna lose the three of them. The Kaiba brothers, and our friend Tea's baby sister." Joey commanded, before he and the others hopped out of their Niwatoris and followed after Lea and Mokuba.
