I stared at her.anger forced my words worling out."its hopeless,"i snapped.
Mist opened her muzzle but remained silent.Ash sat up and looked at us.she pushed herself up and limped over.
"Your to soft,"she began,"thats how you get killed."i found it easy to tell who that was directed to.Mist looked hurt.like her heart cried instead of her.
"If you leave im staying,"she began to cry.mist had always been sweet and simple.Ash was right.she was gonna get herself killed. In odd silence swept the den.mist sat near the entrance staring into the white world outside.ash laid to the back just keeping to herself.I watched them till it felt right.
I pushed my back legs and lounged forward.the warmth of the den faded till only the icy snow made me warm.I waited alone. No need to wait.not for spring.for summer.for mother.for mist.or ash.they were no longer in sight.
