Chapter 1 & 2

I never saw it coming I mean I was twelve years old and didn't suspect a thing...That was until that night...

Chapter 1 

5 Years Later

"Mom! I can't believe you are making us move there!? I mean you couldn't find a job in another town other than that?" I yelled as she and dad just finished giving me the news that we were moving from our lovely home in South Carolina to Burnesville in Minnesota. The town where I was born and raised until I became twelve... Exactly two months three weeks and six days before I became twelve actually... I shook my head trying not to think about it as my mom tried to explain why she had decided on that job in that particular town. I drowned her out not listening to anything she says, I took out my phone and texted my best friend Camri.

Me:"911!! meet me at the park bad news!! :-(" 

Camri:"Be there in 10..you're not pregnant right? =-O" 

Me:"Of course not!! See you there*" 

I tucked my phone back in my pocket and noticed my mom still talking. 

"Louise-Mari Sarah Anne Crane! Were you even listening to a word I said?" 

I looked at her with shock... She only used my full name when she was really,really angry... I stood up and looked her straight in the eye and walked away. I got my car keys and jumped into my new Cooper that I got from my parents for my birthday a few weeks ago. I made my way to the park and saw Camri sitting on one of the swings frowning as she thinks...  

"Hey,don't think so hard I can hear you" I chuckled at her. She looked up quickly and her frown got replaced by a grin as she jumped up and gave me a hug. "So what's up?" She asked as she let me go and held me at arms length. I looked into her eyes as confusion swirled through her dark brown eyes.

I looked at her and asked her if we could have a seat on the swings, as we sat down, I started telling her the whole story about what my mom had said and how she yelled at me, and as I came to the end her eyes were full of sorrow and she had tears in the corners of her eyes. "You can't leave Sarah! What will I do without you? And the prom it's like in two months!" I looked at her and then swallowed the lump that was forming in my throat as I tried to calm her by stroking her back gently. She immediately relaxed and looked at me as if she was waiting for me to tell her that it was a joke, but sadly it wasn't.

Two weeks after I broke the news to Camri at the park, we were all packed and ready to go. I didn't want to leave Camri, but I promised her that she could come and visit every holiday if she could and that we would stay in contact. I got on the plane and looked out the window as we lifted off. I would miss it there, I didn't want to go back,but I had no choice.

Chapter 2

I looked out the window of our truck at all the unfamiliar, yet familiar, places of my old town. It gave me the creeps I looked at all the people, they all had a smile plastered on their faces, it all looked so fake...

**Flashback** 

"Sarah, say hi to Auntie Ester she is going to make your dress for your party." whispered my mother into my ear. 

"Hi, Auntie Ester" I mumbled and looked down at the floor. I wasn't a big fan of Auntie Ester, everyone said she was a witch, who made children her slaves. As soon as she had my measurements we left and went home. As my mom went back to her home office I went to our house phone and called my best friend. 

"Hay Gary. You want to to go catch a movie?" 

"Hey, yeah sure see you there at 6?" 

"I was actually wondering if you and your mom could come pick me up?" 

"Yeah sure, see you at 6, bye " 

"Thank you, bye!"

I hung up and went to get dressed, after I got dressed I went to my mom's office and asked her for some money. She gave me a $100 bill, on my way out of the office she called me back and I looked at her over my shoulder. 

"Be careful please Sarah,many people would want to hurt you, we are special don't talk to strangers please!" 

"Yeah I know mom!" I said and walked out. 

Gary and his mom came to fetch me,and she dropped us off at the movie theater. We got our snacks and tickets and went into the theater. Before the movie started I looked at Gary and said:"I'm just going to the bathroom real quick, I'll be right back." 

"Okay but hurry it's about to start." 

I hastily got up and walked to the bathroom. As I stepped out of the bathroom door I saw a shadow moving and I looked that way... Then I saw those eyes looking at me and a forked tongue creeping out of its mouth... I walked away quickly and went back to my seat next to Gary. 

**Flashback ended** 

I stared at the town again and saw Auntie Ester's shop.She was standing outside, looking directly into my eyes with a sly smile creeping up on her face. I looked away quickly and saw that we were pulling into a drive way of a pretty cottage house. "Welcome home sweetie!" said my mom with an excited tone.
