... we all love you.

Prologue

Angel-May this spell must be cast tonight, or your future won't exist; your life will no longer be on this track," Jurisa advised her as they walked side by side, heading through the corridor towards the old hall.

"Why tonight? Why can't it wait till I return from Molax?" Angel asked; her emerald eyes studied the old woman as she waited for the response.

"It's a waning moon on the Night of Hulda, you must do it tonight, your past is reaching that time when she first meets Zared, Angel, please, it cannot be missed."

Jurisa Sand is a witch born into a long line of powerful women. Her long hair had turned silver and was worn tied in a bun, held tightly in place with pins. She had young brown eyes, wise beyond her years, and skin that had worn with time. Over the years she had shrunk and begun to hunch. At sixty-five years of age she had saved many in their fight to save good from being extinguished.

Jurisa had a daughter in her thirties. She had been captured by Leeda and held in a cell, drained and close to death. She was the next in line to take over the coven and the guidance of Angel's daughter, keeping her safe from those that would attack by the use of spells and psychic abilities that threatened her life, while Angel was away fighting demons by her warrior's and her husband's sides.

"OK, I shall be there in five minutes. Is Zared prepared for his role in this?" Angel asked as they entered the hall. There was a table surrounded by people ready for her to arrive. They rose to their feet when she entered.

"Yes my Queen," she bowed.

Angel stopped in the doorway and turned to her. "Good because without him doing what we asked of him, then this is all for nothing. Remember I will be asleep when he first comes. I will not recognise this place, but Zared will have to be with me when we do this so she ..., so I," Angel corrected herself, "know who he is." Angel paused, remembering the past. "I dream of him standing in front of me holding my hand. You need to make sure he speaks to me as a friend. He will have to teach me how to read and write. He will have to teach me how to speak." Angel turned to the waiting group, feeling their urgency to talk. "Jurisa, it's important he does that. He won't remember what he has said or done, so make sure you don't let him forget."

"Would it be a wiser choice for you to do this, so there are no mistakes?" the old witch enquired.

"No I can't be near him right now. You will have to do this," Angel said, looking away momentarily. She didn't want to acknowledge the pain in her chest, or feel another tear on her face. Her throat was tight; clearing it she looked into Jurisa's eyes. "You will do this and I will see you in five minutes outside in the courtyard. Now if that's all, I have things to see to."

"Yes of course." She bowed again, as Angel closed the door on her.

Angel's time in the meeting was longer than expected. They had decided on a plan of action: a group would attack from the south and the east, while the warriors would attack from above. They had discovered that the demons had gathered on the north docks, preparing to open the doorway to Arico and an enemy waiting for revenge. Arico lay just beyond this world. A place of pure evil, with creatures that were strong and hard to kill. They were more dangerous than anything that this world had ever seen before. They would strike on the night after her daughter's fifth birthday; the day of her change, when Isis would become as her father.
