I woke up early from yet another nightmare. It was about my father again, this time he had pitch black eyes and pointy sharp teeth, blood dripping from the side of his mouth. He lurched at me and ripped my skin to shreds, then I woke up, I sighed, cradling my head in my hands groggily. Just a dream. Just a dream. I rolled out of bed and got ready for another full day of work, I've been contributing more hours lately, I don't want to be at home all day lost in my thoughts, so I keep myself busy at work. I need to be productive after yesterday's incident.
It takes me exactly 10 minutes to walk to the cafe. 10 minutes of thinking and I still can't be left alone in my own mind. Even walking through this crowd, I felt alone. The busy streets bustling with people. Rain patting softly on the sidewalk. I finally came to the Black Bean Cafe and I pushed open the door, the bell chimed above me as I stepped inside. Casey looked up from the piece of paper she had been writing on. Her blue hair swaying softly from the air blowing from the air conditioner. Her green eyes searching me. Casey's the type of person who is nice to everyone she meets, doesn't matter who they are, she's just a friendly person. I guess that's why she's the cashier. Her mum owns the place and I met Casey through her mum at the interview for this job.
"Hey Cammy," Casey said handing me the sign in sheet. Typical Casey, always trying to come up for nicknames for me. I haven't liked any of them so far. Last week it was Cam Cam the Tim Tam. "No," I sighed. "Anything but that," Casey frowned and I almost laughed, she's trying so hard. "That's what you said the last time," She cried, clearly frustrated. The bell chimed and the door swung open, there stood Casey's mum with a handful of groceries, so many I couldn't see her face through the paper bags. She dumped them on the counter and sighed.
"Hey Cameron!" Janet said smiling.
"Now that's how you greet someone," I turned to Casey and said cheekily.
"I saw you disappear out of the shop yesterday is everything alright?" I frowned, they wouldn't understand. I nodded and gave Janet a big smile. Hopefully, that was convincing. "Yeah everything's fine," I loved how they cared. It just gave me a small sense of not being completely on my own.

My shift was nearly over and I was exhausted after rush hour. I've been working for 3 hours straight. I walked over to the booth near the door and pulled out my paper and pen ready to take this man's order.
"Hi what can I get you - " I looked up to find the man from yesterday, Charles I think his name was. He looked up at me with a soft smile and bright blue eyes shining. What was he doing here again? Sure this place is pretty popular, but two days in a row? Then it hit me maybe he genuinely wants to help me, maybe he isn't a policeman trying to trick me into going home.
"Could I have a latte please?" He asked. I nodded before walking back over to the counter and handing Casey the order.
"You okay? You are very pale it's like you've seen a ghost!" She asked her concerned eyes searching me. Am I okay? I have a freaking stalker.
