Chan has spent the last 3 days travelling in one direction. He wasn't even sure why he had chosen that direction. It just felt right. It was starting to get dark when he stumbled upon a small town. The town had a hotel, so Chan decided to hold up there for the night.
He slowly pushed open the door of the hotel and was greeted with an angry looking woman, who perked up at the knowledge of a customer.
"Good evening ma'am. I'm sorry if I'm disturbing you."
"Not at all young man. It's not often we get visitors in. Will you be staying the night?"
"Yes, ma'am. I do plan on leaving early, so is there anywhere I can stock up on food."
"Why in such a hurry? But I'm sure you can stop by the store on your way out of town."
"Thank you."
"Not at all, but I wouldn't leave your room tonight. Best to wait till morning."
"Why?"
"The devil works at night young man. We wouldn't want you getting yourself into something you shouldn't be. Would we now?"
"No... no, we wouldn't"
"That's a good boy. Now, off to your room now if you want an early start tomorrow."
Chan began to walk the stair towards his room with an uneasy feeling in his stomach. That woman was a bit strange.
Chan had been in his room for a while now. His watch read 11:27 pm. Just when he decided to go to sleep, he heard shouting from outside.
"CATCH HIM! DON'T LET THE MONSTER ESCAPE THIS TIME! JUST KILL THE BLASTED THING!"
What in the name of Zeus were those people doing? Chan ran outside just in time to see a boy, no older than himself, running for his life closely followed by a group of people carrying nets and knives, and the woman from the hotel holding a gun. Chan did the only thing he could think of. He ran between the boy and the mob, reach his hand to the sky and summoned the lighting his father gave him. Chan stood before the group of people, now frozen in fear, holding lightning and staring them down with a ferocious anger.
"What do you think you're doing?" His voice rang with the thunder, so strong it could shake the heavens.
The mob turned and ran, leaving the woman alone. Frozen in fear, the rifle slipped from her hands and landed in the dirt at her feet.
"I asked you a question" lightning strikes with a huge crack of thunder and the woman turns tail and runs, screaming.
"Woah..." Chan returns the lightning bolt to its bracelet form and turns to the boy now lying in the dirt beside him, almost stunned as he looks up at Chan.
"Here, let me help you," Chan says extending his left hand to pull the boy up. After setting himself on his own two feet, the boy takes a moment to examine Chan's bracelet that sits on the wrist he is holding.
"Should I refer to you as 'Your Highness' or what?"
"What?"
"Don't play dumb man. I know who you are, you can't just call down a bolt of lightning and expect me not to piece it together. I mean seriously. Who would've thought the son of Zeus would be so spaced?"
"Um... Okay. My name is Chan, by the way. Just because my father is king of the gods, doesn't mean I want anything to do with that title."
"I hear ya. I'm Changbin..... Son of Hades."
"Well, nice to meet you Changbin."
"You're not going to say anything? Make some 'fun' comment about my dad"
"Should I? You haven't done anything."
"Well then. It's nice to meet you too Chan." Changbin gestures in the direction of where the mob of people ran.
"I don't think they'll be okay with you staying in town anymore. You can stay with me if you like."
"Really? That'd be great, just let me grab my stuff."
"I'll help. I don't exactly want to stand out here by myself."
"Fair enough"
After the two boys collected all of Chan's things, they made their way out of town to a small cabin situated in a secluded part of the woods. Stepping through the front door Chan couldn't help but notice how cozy it was. The far wall had a desk that was covered in a mountain of paper, some crumpled and some neatly stacked to the side. There was a small window, just above it, open and letting a cool breeze in. Next to the desk was a small one person bed that was covered with even more paper. And a black, decorative chest placed at the foot of the bed.
"You can set your stuff down where-ever." Changbin walks over to the chest and takes out some blankets, before closing it again.
"Thanks." Chan stands there and takes the timeto look arounf the small cabin his new friend calls home.
"Hey, Changbin."
"Yeah?"
"What's with all the paper lying around? Just curious." Changbin tensed up at the question.
"I-uh. I write."
"Like, stories." Chan was excitedly curious. Changbin responded after a moment, hesitation and nervousness clear on his face.
"I write... music."
"That's so cool!"
"You don't think it's stupid?"
"Why would I? I write a bit myself actually. It helps me a lot, with a lot of different things. Besides, I'd say I'm a half decent singer."
This made Changbin laugh and the two boys stayed up for the rest of the night laughing and getting to know each other. They started talking about the sanctuary and why Chan had left. Chan also asked if Changbin wanted to come with him. He seemed unsure but trusted his new friend.
Chan's journey had begun and already the first peice of the puzzle had been put into place.

I re-wrote this like a million times. I couldn't get it to end right. And because this chapter was more dialogue based, I hope it wasn't too difficult to follow.
I hope it turned out alright.
Thanks for reading :D
