The tour continues and we see Zebras, Elephants, and other animals. When we get back to the camp and unload the bus, I am the last to get off. When I step off Jackson helps me out again, "hey, Uh... I don't know if you have plans tonight, but there is a bar in town that I occasionally go to. Maybe I'll see you there sometime?"
I nod and blush brightly, "Uh, yeah, maybe."
Jackson nods, "great, Uh... I'll see you later."
"See ya."
Jackson and I stand there awkwardly for a moment before we both turn and walk away. When I get back to Dove and Emma, Emma shakes her head, "it's only been a day and you already have a date with the Safari guide."
I shake my head, "it's not a date. He just told me he goes to a bar in town sometimes."
Dove wraps her arm around my neck, "Well I think we are going to a bar tonight." I shake my head and scoff, as Dove tries of convenience me to go, "come on, Kat. You are a 22-year-old, ER nurse, who lives with her parents and sister. We're going."
My mom overhears the conversation and walks over, "where are we going?"
Emma smiles, "we heard there's a nice bar in town."
"Oh, that'll be fun for you girls."
I nod before the three of us head back to the room and lower the curtains, since the maids had put them up when they cleaned, and we get changed. I get changed into some light blue jeans, a black designer top, and a black and grey cardigan, with some black block heels.
Dove and Emma are dressed in shorts or a dress and look over to me confused, "jeans again?"
"And a cardigan?"
I nod and look down at my outfit, "do you know how cold it can get at night here?"
Dove chucked, "Do you know how hot it gets on a dance floor in a bar?"
I nod, "that's why I have the tank underneath."
Emma shakes her head, "whatever, you two ready?"
"I am if you two are."
Dove nods and the three of us head to the bar. I find it funny that the one time my mom is okay with us going to a bar is when we are out of the country. Shouldn't that be when she isn't okay with it?
Luckily for the girls and I, we are able to take a cab to the bar. When we get there it isn't packed. There are about 20 people there, counting us. When we walk we look around and it is just about what you'd expect from an African bar.
We look around and before long Emma elbows me in the ribs, "Look who showed up."
I look over and see Jackson standing at the bar with Abraham. I blush softly as I look over to Dove and Emma. Dove chuckles. "Girl, that beautiful man could be yours. So get your game face on."
I shake my head, still bright red, "Let's dance. It'll build my confidence a little bit." The girls agree to dance with me, when we get to the floor there are a few other people around us and the next song begins to play. Emma is excited that it is The Backstreet Boys.
"Everybody
Rock your body
Everybody
Rock your body right
Backstreets back, alright."
(Everybody by Backstreet Boys)I chuckle as the three of us start to dance, Emma is a little more excited than Dove and I. As I dance I spin and glance in Jackson's distraction and notice that he is watching us. As I turn back, Dove smile at me and nods. I blush brightly and shake my head as we continue to dance. Once the song is over I walk over to the bar and ask for a water. Before long Jackson comes up to me wearing a smile, "nice moves out there."
I giggle softly and turn to him, "thanks. Even though you recommended this place, I didn't think you'd be here."
"Yeah, well, I had the night off and I heard a pretty girl was gonna be here."
I blush softly and giggle as he makes his comment, "well, I'm glad you could make it." I thank the bartender as he hands me my water and I take a sip, as I look over to Jackson who's taking a drink of his beer.
Jackson and I chuckle softly before falling into an awkward silence. After a few moments, Jackson clears his throat, "So, do you wanna dance?"
I nod and smile, "yeah, sure."
Jackson and I turn and head to the dance floor as the next song comes on.
"Let me introduce you to my party people
In the club.
It's a new generation of Party People
Get 'em up, yeah.
If you go hard, you gotta get on the floor.
If you're a party freak then step on the floor.
If you're an animal then tear up the floor."
(On the Floor, by Jennifer Lopez)Jackson and I start to dance, the two of close but not close. By the end of the song, we aren't really dancing anymore, so much as swaying in the corner. Jackson's hands on my hips and my hands on his shoulders. When the song ends Jackson smiles softly and looks around, "do you wanna step outside?" I glance over to Dove and Emma, who are still dancing, a little unsure, "I promise nothing weird, I just think we'd be able to talk a little easier out there."
