What is your name?

My name is Amelia, though I wish it were Novalee...

How old are you?

I'm 13! I think...

What inspired you to write your first book?

What inspired me to write in general is from all the people that made fun of me for speaking with better words than my age. The idea came from people making me feel like an outcast. There, my original, Shattered was born! I like to take sad events and turn them into stories, for reasons unknown.

Who is your favorite author and what is it that really strikes you about their work?

My favorite author is Veronica Roth. She wrote the Divergent Trilogy. What strikes me about her work is just the way she writes. it's easy to follow and just sucks you in.

What is your favourite theme/genre to write about?

My favorite genre? I'd probably say Thriller or Horror...

Do you see writing as a career?

I see writing as more than a career. I see it as a way of life *sighs* I'm not even joking though, it's summer but I haven't stopped writing...

If you could work with any author who would it be?

Like I said, Veronica Roth. Just because she's my favorite author, I'd love to do a collab with her! I think it would be really fun and just the opportunity to meet her would be great...

Do you use real-life facts based on true stories?

I don't really understand this question, but I'll do my best...
I use true stories all the time and real facts. If you mean, do I look things up just to make sure they're correct, then yes! If you mean, do I use real life events, then the answer is yes.

Did you ever think you'd be, where you are right now?

Where I am right now? I'm just a seventh grader. But on wattpad, I have over 400 fans. I think it's a great accomplishment for someone my age to have that many fans! And, no I never thought I'd come this far.
I looked back at my last year writing, and it was trash compared to what I'm starting to write now.

What advice would you give to people who "run out of creativity" when writing?

With me, I don't run out of creativity because I like to plan ahead. When I write a story and posted the first chapter. I already have the next 5 planned. It makes it easier on your fans patience and so you don't run out of creativity. Also, if you're out of inspiration, go to your stories and read the comments. It just helps...

Do you ever suffer from writer’s block? If so, what do you do about it?

I do suffer from writers block. On my Fan Fiction, I'm trying to turn it to an original, but I can't seem to get any ideas. So what should you do? Just go read a bunch of books, listen to music and take your mind off reading. Writers Block to me is from stress and putting your brain under pressure to the point it can't create new ideas anymore...

Do you have any advice for other writers?

When you write, don't keep checking back for more comments. When I started wattpad, I didn't have any attention and being patient and making friends can really go a long way. Now I have over two hundred comments and 700 votes.

Anything fun about yourself you want your fans to know?

I love reading romance novels in my spare time. If you ask me in person, I'll deny everything, but it's true! I don't know why, but it seems to put a smile on my face...

How would you describe yourself?

I'm definitely one of the less shallow people. I like to make people laugh and always aim to be myself. I've got a huge anger and violence problem. To the point, my parents have considered anger management classes. reading my stories, will help you understand my personality. I can be a real (insert swear here).

The only reason I'm not shallow is because I get made fun of due to my weight and I've stopped caring. So yeah, I'm just one of the awesome peeps!
