Chapter 16

" It'll take us a few days to get to Atlas, so I hope you all be patient as we make our journey." Winter said in an even tone. Qrow only gave her a nod as she walked past him which was odd enough. She knew that something  serious was definitely going on. She also guessed that he probably ran out of alcohol to deal with it.

" What do I call you?" She said to herself, moments after recovering from her half drowned state. " Well, you're big, scary...kinda cute tho." The sea dragon coiled around her gently as  she leaned back onto its abdomen. She remembers waking up in a cave to say the least, where, she has no idea. But, maybe she should think of a name for the dark figure first. " Hey, I- Thank you for everything,"

" Don't, I'll always aid you master." Veena glared at it for a moment. " What?" She threw a stone that went right through it.

" You didn't let me finish. Thank you for everything, Pyx." Its paused for a moment as the last word rang in its ears. " What? You don't like the name I gave you?"

" I love it. So, you've gained all your memories, Veena?" It asked as neared her.

" Not quite, but I got what I need so far. Listen, I hope you understand that if I call you by your previous, you will act accordingly." It nodded, more than happy as its master had gained enough memories to acknowledge it. " Now, what about this?" She opened the palm of her hand and small glowing orbs began to circle around it. " I'm sure I remember a few things. But still, I'm thinking....maybe I should go to Atlas. What do you two think?" The dragon only flapped its wings a couple of times before nestling next to her. " It seems that you're willing to go wherever, what about you, Pyx?"

" There's nothing else for us here...The foes might come looking for us, so you're not safe here." Veena chuckled, amused by its concern over her. It truly is a gift from the gods.

" Then it's settled. We leave in the morning. Is that okay with you?" She said petting the dragon's snout. It gave a small growl, sounding somewhat subdued. She asummed it doesn't mind. She closed her eyes and let herself dream, afterall not all her dreams were fantasies. " Don't worry, Little Rose. I'm on my way..." She said to herself as she drifted to sleep.

" Ruby?" Weiss came over to sit next to her. " You still thinking about her?"

" Yeah, but it's okay. She's alive...and we're gonna be fine. I hope I get to see her again, maybe with all her memories she could've helped us know what to do next." Oscar walked over to join them with a gentle smile on his face. " Hey Oscar, wanna join us?"

" Miss Rose," Ozpin began with a small smile. " There's something I need to tell you, about Veena. In my first life, I've only met her once. While I was training under my mentor as a warrior, I'd occasionally see this older warrior, out of the older students beneath my mentor she would either choose one or none at all to train beneath her. Some who were in her care, became fearless warriors that served lords and kings. I remember how my mentor recommended me, I was the best at the time but she refused. I didn't know why until recently, when she told me."

" And that would be?" Weiss prompted, eager to get this over with.

" I had a good heart but a weak one. I make rash decisions without thinking and despite my talents I was always afraid. Going deeper into details is something only she can do." He said with a chuckle. " I feel small compared to her, she's older and wiser than anything I'll ever be," His eyes flickered and Oscar was back. " Actually, Veena visited us in our dreams. She told me, uh, not to worry and that well, she said ' Don't worry I'm coming to protect you.'?" Oscar seemed a bit confused why Veena would be so motherly towards him. They're only two years apart.

" Well, thank you for the information anyway. Both of you," Ruby said smiling cheerfully. " Oh, has anyone seen Uncle Qrow?"

" I saw him go somewhere with Winter, maybe they're having another argument?" Nora implied, however it was awfully quiet on the airship that night.

" He's drunk at the moment." Zea said appearing literally out of nowhere. " Sorry, did I frighten you children?" She asked with a touch of concern as she heard a few shout and yelps.

" How are you doing that?" Ren asked, slightly fascinated by a real life ghost.

" My semblance was already to be a ghost but this new...ability is a bit of magic that Veena gave me before she, told me to leave her. Much like Qrow's ability to turn into a bird."
