Kate's P.O.V

I had just graduated high school a month ago. My friend and I were moving to LA. We have been planing this move since Freshman year, and it was finally here. I'm ditching hot Arizona and going to the beach! I just had to break it to my parents. They know about my plan, and how desperate I am to move out of here, but they don't know I'm finally moving. I have been eighteen since December it is now July. I'm old enough to move out of my house. I should be fine on my own in a new state.

"Mom, Dad. I'm 18. I am a full grown adult! I graduated high school, I got a job, and I'mmovingtoCalifornia." I rushed the last part out sighing in relief. They starred at each other for a while.

"You're right you are eighteen, you are an adult. When do you plan on leaving?" My mom asked.

"Um..Next week." I said shocked.

"Next week?!" My dad shouted. "You can't go. You're my little baby. You're too young to be on your own!" He says. My mother stares at him,and rolls her eyes.

"Go pack, hun," she says. I left and I started to pack. Immediately I called my friend Taylor.

"Hey." She answered.

"Are you done packing?" I asked.

"I just started. What about you?" She asked.

"Yup!" I smiled.

"You finally told your parents!!!" She squealed. I ignored the part of telling her about my fathers breakout, but I was moving. We talked while packing in different houses. Eventually we hung up and I realized I packed all my clothes. I started boxing more of my things and I finished the day before I moved.

"What do you guys want to do, your last day in Arizona?!" My friend Jarred asked.

"Let's just chill or something." My other friend Matthew said.

"You're so lazy!" Taylor said. Her brown hair was pulled up into a loose pony tail easily you could see her chocolatey brown eyes, and tan skin.

"Guys lets just drive around and see what to do!" I suggested we were in the car driving and ended up at a Denny's. We got french fries and milkshakes. The waitress walked up with four Oreo milkshakes.

"My milkshake brings all the boys to the yard and they're like its better than your. Damn right it's better than yours, I could teach you but I have to charge!" We all yelled it as she approached us. The thirty year old, blonde, waitress was laughing at us, obviously knowing the song, and joined along as we chanted the lyrics. We finished our fries and milkshakes and ran off to the next place we would randomly land in front of. The movies!

"Four tickets for the Fault in our Stars." I smiled.

"What! No! I don't want to watch that!" Jarred complained. His light eyes widen, and eye brows knit together. Taylor and I sighed.

"I guess we should just not watch a movie then and j-just leave to California tonight..." Taylor sighed.

"Fine!" Jarred acted like a ten year old stomping into the theatre room. Jarred and Matthew walked out of the theatre room crying and Taylor and I laughing our asses off! Yeah it was a sad movie, but Matthew and Jarred were crying! We walked into the movie right in front of us, 22 jump street. We had just sat down when a security guy walked up to us and asked to see our ticket, when he realized we didn't have a ticket he kicked us out.

Next random place took ten minutes to drive. Walmart. We ran threw the halls like little kids heading to the toy section. We destroyed it! Skateboards, toys, and bikes scattered around the store. I grabbed a bouncy ball and kicked it across the store Taylor did the same.

"HEY!" A man yelled running towards us and we busted out running out of the store. It was ten at night. It's been four hours since milkshakes and french fries.

"Guys! Let's get more food!" I complained. We pulled into a McDonald's. We got a 40 piece chicken nuggets and four large fries.

"Okay! Who ever eats the most wins!" Matthew yelled. His eyes lit up with joy as he starred at the food. He licked his lips ready to win.

"Go!" I yelled we stuffed our faces with food as people starred at us weirdly.

"I WON!" Jarred yelled finishing the last nugget. I stopped at ten, and a million french fries ago.

"That's not fair! You squirted ketchup on my face!" Matthew shouts wiping the red sauce off his chin.

"Kate! Hurry up!" Taylor yelled as I walked slowly to car.

"I'm tired!!!" I yelled.

"Get in the car and we can sleep!" I ran to the car and we dropped off Matthew and Jarred. We decided to leave now so there was no traffic.

"Should we stop by your house?" Taylor asked. I shook my head, guilt flying through me.

"No. My dad is being stubborn, and my mom is just listening to him. I'm eighteen. I can do whatever I want," I say.

"Kate, you should at least say goodbye," Taylor says sighing. I shrug, and she speeds off. My father convinced my mother that I shouldn't have left, but I still packed and left. We grabbed coffee at QT and I drove us half way to California. The sun was just coming up and Taylor pulled over to our new condo in LA right by the beach. I could hear the waves crashing. We're really here.We settled in our two bedroom, two bathroomed condo. I threw my bags on my bed, that we had ordered here. I laid on my bed and fell asleep.
