Elizabeth's Pov-
I'd have given anything, to take back the words I said to her before she was gone forever. I wish I hadn't been so angry with her. Maybe, she wouldn't have left this world in the way that she did.
I walked through these unfamiliar hallways and kept my eyes low. I didn't want to be here. I'd rather be in my bed crying right now. People bumped into me and gave me dirty looks and others apologized. I didn't respond to any of them. I walked into the crowded classroom and picked a seat farthest away from the teachers' desk. A few seconds after the seating bell rang, a tall skinny woman wearing a black pencil skirt walks into the room carrying several large books. Some of the male students gawked at her and some of the female students scoffed in a jealous rage. I for one, put my earphones in at stared blankly out the classroom window.
I could faintly hear her voice ringing through the class. All of the sudden, it came to a halt. I didn't look her direction, knowing that her sudden loss for words was caused by me. She walked over to my desk and stopped at the side of it expecting me to look at her. I did not. She slammed one of her books down on my desk expecting me to flinch or gain my attention. I took out one earphone and slowly looked at her. Not because I was scared, but because I didn't want to listen to anything she had to say. "Yes?" I said in a monotone voice. "Would you care to pay attention?" She asked me sassily. "No?" I asked and put my earphones back in. I stared blankly out the window again until she ripped my earphones out of my ears. "What is your problem?" I yelled at her. The other students were staring at me know. "Look, Elizabeth is it? Well, Elizabeth, I understand that you lost your friend, but that gives you no reason what so ever, to not pay attention in my class." She smirked knowing all too well what she said would piss me off. "Don't you dare talk about her! You don't know anything! You don't have the right!" I screamed in her face. "In fact, as I do recall, you're the reason she's gone anyway. Isn't that right?" She laughed. "Says the bitch who sleeps with her students and still has the audacity to go home to a loving and loyal husband who spends his day raising your son. Whore." I spat. She reeled back and gasped. A few of the boys flinched and looked away knowing they're guilty. She snapped out of it and grabbed me by the bicep and dragged me out of the classroom and into the office. She took my phone and earbuds. "You won't be getting these back anytime soon Miss Elizabeth." She smiled and glared. I flipped her the bird. She laughed and walked away.
"The principal will see you now Elizabeth." The secretary said with a sorry smile. I smiled weakly in return. I gathered my stuff and entered the principals' office. "Why're you here Elizabeth?" She asked me as soon as the door was closed. "I'm here because I don't give a damn what that bitch has to say," I said calmly holding back a break down. "We don't tolerate that language here, Miss Elizabeth." She said with a worried face. "Aunt Maddie, please don't do that." I cried and fell to the floor. "Elizabeth!" She yelled and jumped from her seat running to my aid. I cried to her. "She said it was my fault!" I cried on her shoulder. "Oh...Lizzie...That's not.." She said holding back sympathetic tears. I wasn't the only one who lost her. Maddie lost her too. "I'll never forget her." I cried harder and louder. "Of course you won't." She said and ran her hands through my hair soothingly. "Hazel, I miss you....." I said to the sky and Aunt Maddie began to cry too.
