(Apologies for the POV change, but the story will be narrated from a 3rd person perspective for the remainder of the story)

Marshal Lee awakened from a deep state of sleep, courtesy of a deafening ringing coming from his right. Processing the noise, he soon recognised it as an alarm clock. To his right, Gumball was sitting up in bed checking his phone with one hand and holding back his messy, tangled hair with the other. His soft pink pajama top draped over him like a curtain and his covers were neatly folded over in front of him, allowing him to maintain his upright position against the backboard of his bed.

He yawned and hoisted himself up with his arms and mirrored Gumball's position.
"It's a Saturday," muttered Marshall, "why are you up at 7 in the morning?"
Gumball silently acknowledged the statement seemingly unbothered by the venomous tone, almost as if he'd forgotten the hatred he had for Marshall.
"I run on a schedule." Replied Gumball groggily as he set his phone on the nightstand and rose out of bed. Without another word, Prince Gumball snatched up the clothes that lay atop his wardrobe and headed to the bathroom. Marshall heard the door lock and the shower start.

Marshall sat there for a bit. He sat puzzled, not knowing what he should be doing. He leapt out of bed and opened his duffel bag. Marshall brushed his teeth and combed his hair with his hands.

He decided to get changed into his clothes, since Gumball was in the shower. He took off his gym shorts and replaced them with a pair of black skinny jeans. He buckled his belt, took of his shirt, and began looking for his hoodie in his bag to wear home. Something Marshall Lee had failed to realise was that the shower had turned of quite some time ago, and out walked Gumball fully dressed.

Marshall stood up straight and whirled around to face the prince. His cheeks flushed as he realized what was wrong. Despite his mind's pleads to go and get on his hoodie as fast as possible, Marshall stood glued to the floor unable to move or speak.

Gumball's heart fluttered for a moment. He felt his face heat up and grow a deep shade of red, a harsh contrast to his piercing blue eyes that were fixated on the vampire. He stepped back and covered his face, but the mental image remained. By the time he had opened up his eyes, Marshall was already fully clothed and sitting on his bed with his head in his hands.

They spoke no words to eachother as Marshall left the house. Gumball watched him fly away from the doorstep and despite the blistering heat of the candy kingdom, he couldn't help but linger there for a bit, staring out into the afternoon sky.
