The great and powerful Hogwarts train loops into the train station, and students pour out of the doors in their fancy robes.

I look around and try to find anything to help me figure out where to go. After a couple minutes of groaning and stubbornly refusing to ask for help, an older student in Hufflepuff timidly points to the boats.

With added speed I jump into one of the boats closest to the dock. It splashes slightly and gets another student's book wet. "Hey, my books are soaked!"

With a wave of her wand she shouts, "Aquamenti!" A burst of water shoots out from the end of her wand. Jumping down to avoid the gust of water, a second year Griffindor gets a face full of water.

After the rest of the boat ride of ducking and dodging the water attacks from the girl, the boat finally reaches the dock. The tall man, Hagrid, leads me and the rest of the first years to Professor Mcgonagall.

Professor Mcgonagall shakes her head with a stern frown on her face. After a long period of lecturing about rules, she leads the group to the Great Hall. She begins to explain the Sorting Hat but I zone out without knowing it.

Snapping out of my daydream by the sound of Mcgonagall calling my name. "Gaia." Mcgonagall leads me to the chair and sets the muttering and grumbling hat on my head. The hall was already confused that Professor Mcgonagall refrained from saying my last name, listen to what the hat says carefully.

"Hmmm. Looks here we have ourselves a little troublemaker. Better put you in..." The hat says with the hall going to murmurs. "SLYTHERIN!"

The table to the far right of me erupts with cheers. Making my way to the table I get smirks and high fives. After the ceremony the girl that I splashed water on, walks over with her new, dry, and blue robes say with her chin up. "You owe me a new book, Slytherin."

I roll my eyes as she walks away with a loud "hmph!" When I finally turn back to my fellow Slytherins, who already have a green scarf for me. An older guy from my house with dark brown hair and brown eyes says, "We ARE known for crafty. It's kind of a inside joke if you know what I mean."

The group urupts into laughter as they migrate to their hidden house in the dungeons. The older Slytherins spark up a conversation with others as the first years, a couple others, and I, head straight to their rooms.

Soon after I finish hiding my secret supply of chocolate frogs and candy, I join with the others in the living room.

Pressing my face on the glass I can see the piranhas and an occasional mermaid or water nymph swim by. The room quiets as the head boy shouts, "Accio television!" The muggle TV flies over to him and hits him in the face.

The whole area urupts in laughter before helping him up. The head girl chuckles and says, "Careful now." After others get the television onto the mantle everyone but me all sit down.

I jump at the tapping behind me. I turn around and meet the eyes of two water nymphs. An older classmate says, "Do you know sign language? That's how we talk to them."

Shrugging, he chuckles and gives me a smirk. "That's how we all started. I can teach you if you want-"

The booming sound of curfew bell startles us and the guy I was talking with continues talking. "Oh by the way, usually we stay up later for a movie with the first years but if you prefer you get some rest that's alright too."

I nod motions for him to continue. We talked for a couple minutes before we both sat down to watch the movie. Afterwards the head girl and boy get everyone back to our rooms.

During the night, I wake up to the sound of giggling and laughing from outside the door. I sneak out of the dorm and stare at the locked door in front of us.

An older student comes out and pats my shoulder. "They always do this. Don't worry Griffindors are known for being little rascals for us-"

They start pounding on the door, and the girl yells out, "BLOODY HELL, GO TO SLEEP YOU LIONHEADED BARBARIANS!"

The voices dull to whispers before it is replaced by the sound of feet running away. The girl leads me back to my bed and hands me a silver whistle.

She winks at me and whispers, "A while ago, my mother and some others created this rumour that if a Slytherin blows a silver whistle a snake will appear."

I nod urging her to go on and she gladly does so. She continues with a wide smile on her face. "So if anyone tries messing with you, make sure they see it and bringing to your lips like you're going to blow. If they don't leave blow it and we will hear it."

I hum in agreement and hold to my chest. "Thank you...what is your name again?" She chuckles and responds, "Lily. Lily Luna Potter."
