I had never thought my life would be exactly like this. My way of reforming society is unorthodox, per se. But in my world, it's either become the villain or grow into one.

We had planned it out as best as we could for our second mission. Alexander had got his hands on a map of the bank, and I didn't want to question how he gets these sorts of things. Our mission was to get the financial info on my parents and those who worked with them around the time of the experiment. Our time to shine would come Friday night.

The week flew by quicker than anyone imagined. The group met at the Student Council Room and discussed the plan one last time.

"I'm still not sure about our entrance," Violetta commented uneasily, "Someone will notice ice covering the windows and doors.

"There's already frost covering them. Ice isn't much of a change unless you expect it." Jaxson countered.

"What about on the outside? People will be passing by the bank and notice it."

"Hana can cover the exits and windows. No one would question it from the outside."

Violetta sighed. Hana put her hand on top of Vi's.

"Vi. It's going to be fine. We can do this." Hana looked at their hands and slowly pulled away, apologetic.

"Anyway, we'll meet at Phin's house since his parents will be at the bank. Sound good?"

"Phinney, we'll be back sometime after midnight," Phin's mom said, grabbing her purse, "Don't stay up too late now. And get that report done."

"Mom, I know the drill."

Phin's mom rushed off down the stairs to join her husband. Phin heard the door slam shut. He sent a quick text to the group chat and unlocked the side door.

"Hey, Jax?

"Hm?"

"Where's our tech support?"

Jax paused for a second and looked to the rest of the group.

"He got sick this morning. I almost had to stay home myself, to take care of him."

"So how do we get the companies' records without the guy who's spent his whole life studying code?"

"We use this." Jax tossed Violetta a small black earpiece with a mic and antenna. "He'll be on the line once I tell him we're heading out."

Jax tossed Phin one and put the device in his ear. He picked up the bag and slung it over his shoulder.

"Let's do this."

"Hana, how's it looking?"

"Not too many guards because of how packed it is. You feeling any better?"

Hana moved to the other side of the skylight. 2 more guards on the left side and one near the entrance.

"Add two more to that guard list."

"Copy that. Hold on." Hana could hear Alex switch to another line. "The others are on the way. Joining you in ten. I'll switch you to their line."

"I like her, you know? I don't wanna mess it up."

"Vi, I've known you since preschool. You won't."

Hana stopped for a moment to push all of that aside. She put her hand against the skylight to start freezing it over.

They entered through one of the office windows on the second floor. Hana led the charge, adjusting her mask to make sure it was covering her scar.

"Why do we have to take the stairs? We should use the elevator." Jax muttered.

"Babe, you know that all the floors remain closed to the public during this. They don't let tours commence until tomorrow." Phin retorted.

"Jokes on you, I didn't know that. Thank you for the random info though."

Violetta whispered something into her earpiece, likely asking if there was any way to dodge Jax and Phin.

"Hana, Vi, when you arrive at the 6th floor, see if you can find anything unusual. It's the second financial floor, possibly for the influential customers."

"Vi, Hana, we've encountered some issues."

"Where are you?"

"Ninth floor. I assume they're sweeping the building to make sure no guests got up here. We can-"

Hana and Vi overheard shouting from both sides and rushed down to help.

"Alex, you have anything in these bags that could help us?!"

"Tazers is all I packed. Your weapons aren't ready yet."

"That should be enough."

The scene they came upon wasn't pretty. Phin was fighting with one guard. Jax was trying to help him but was blocked by two more guards. Rose presumed that more guards were coming. Knight jumped in to try and help Jax.

They were quickly overwhelmed after the reinforcements got to them. They had pinned down all of them but hadn't taken off their masks yet. Hana cursed herself for letting this happen.

"You want to save your friends, right? I think I can help with that." It wasn't someone she had heard for a long time.

"You didn't forget about me, did you?"

"No, I didn't. How could I?"

"Never mind that. Want me to lend a hand?"

"The last time-"

"I know. But without me, you'll never reach your goal. Let me take control."

"Promise you won't hurt anyone."

"No guarantees. You know how it works."

Hana felt her control slip away.

Vi heard Hana laughing before she saw anything. She quickly looked to the scene, but Hana was gone. The guard had burn marks on his suit. Vi looked to the edge of the balcony. On the rail was standing Hana.

"How about you release my friends? If you do, you might not get burned."

It wasn't Hana. The voice was cold.

'Hana' burst into flames. When she turned, Vi saw her red eyes gleaming through.

"Nice to meet you, by the way. I'm Rose."

Rose attacked.
