I'm in my room reading when my mom knocks on the door.
"Yeah?" I say through the door
"Can you come down to the living room? I want you to meet your soon to be new dad and step sister" mom said
"Ok I'll be down in a second" I said optimistically as I put my book down and got up going to the door opening it my mom would already be gone, as I walk down stairs to the entry of the living room.
"There she is!" Mom practically yelled. I look at my mom and then the man shyly.
"H-h-hello" I stuttered looking down as my phone goes off I'd look at it seeing it's a text from my best friend Lanie.
"Hey,you ok? You haven't messaged me in a while."
I quickly texted her back saying "can't talk. Meeting new dad and step sister"
"Put your phone away and come meet them" mom said as I had a sickening sense of déjà vu, then everything shifted and I was in the car fighting with my sister when the car crashed I woke up screaming. My father comes running in then walks to my bed.
"Are you ok pumpkin?" He asked as my  phone went off scaring the living daylights out of me.
"I'm fine dad" I said slowly "why are you dressed?"
"I have to go to work. You want to go to school today it will be fun"he said smiling.
"Yeah I'll try" I said smiling back as I get up shooing him out I'd get dressed in a pretty pastel pink sundress and brushed out my mahogany brown hair, after I'd go in the bathroom and put on my sparkling lipgloss in the mirror As i look myself in the face seeing my emerald green eyes and freckles frowning.
"What am I doing I can't go to school it's already April" I'd talk to myself in the mirror I'd shake my head hard and smiles slightly "I got this" as I walk out and to the kitchen dad would look at me as I grab pop tarts for breakfast.
"You sure you want to go?" Hed ask softly as I nod and laugh looking at the clock.
"Dad, i know we live across the street, but if you don't leave your going to be late"I'd say as he looks up and frowns
"Shoot your right see you in class" hed say as he runs out and to the school across the street I'd just walk slowly after him.
