Dream of Love

Chapter 1

"I can't go mom, I really need to be here for school and you know how Adrianna is having a tough time right now. She needs me. Where are we going anyways."

My parents have decided that we need some family bonding time next week. not only am I two weeks from all of my finals, but my best friend Adrianna's parents are about to finish going through a rough divorce - to say the least - and her grandmother passed away last week.

"We are going to that little island in the middle of nowhere, where it's really hot and the bugs will drive you insane. Doesn't that sound like heaven?" My mother says with a huge grin plastered from ear to ear.

To put it simply my parents are crazy and my brother is the spawn of Satan that occupies the room next to mine. Not only should I stay home, I also want to stay home. If I go, I risk the ultimate humiliation, at the price of satisfying my family. I am not entirely sure if that is the brightest idea.

You see, my name is Kate Schuster. I'm nearing sixteen years old, average height, weight and looks. And although I love my family to death public embarrassment for a week does not sound in the slightest enjoyable.

Also it means that we all have to squeeze into our old, delapitated Honda Civic, then all try to fit into a tiny, bug infested, non-air conditioned room without killing each other or our selves. But I am not a terrible daughter and besides the fact that I know  there is a very, very, almost impossible chance that I could have a good time I agree to the terms and conditions and I say yes.
