I wake up and the first thing I can feel is the pounding in my head. I lift myself up and reflect on last night. I can't believe I kissed Nathan. My high school obsession. And now i'm in his house. This whole thing is surreal. I admire the room i'm sitting in and notice that the clock on the wall reads 8am. I approached the window nook and stared at the ocean. I was overwhelmed with feelings of confusion, excitement and worry. I know Nathan won't do anything to hurt us, but that doesn't help calm my nerves.

I watched the ocean move slowly, with its gentle waves crashing against the endless world of seashells. I then hear footsteps behind me and turn my head to see that it is Nathan. He sits on the bench next to me but I don't look at him. I see through the glass reflection that he is staring at me.

"You've changed a lot." He says. But I don't reply. "I could barely recognise you in the forest. But as soon as you took off the mask, I knew who you were because of your light green eyes. They haven't changed."

I sat there in silence. I knew what he was trying to say, I know I have changed. I'm not the same church girl I was before. I neglected everybody the day my Grandma died; except for Adriana and Laura. But Nathan has changed too. I start to remember how excited I was to see him at church every week. And now he's in a gang. I changed purely out of grief, so I wonder what made him change.

I then felt his warm, muscular hands touching my arm, trying to comfort me. He could tell I was reluctant to fully trust him.

"Here are some clothes, there is a shower in there" he explained and pointed to the bathroom.

"Thanks", was the only word that came to my mind.

After finishing my shower, I get dressed. I finished brushing my long brown hair, and walked out the room. I open the door and I see him on his phone but his attention was straight on me.

"Come on, we need to meet up with everybody else." He says quickly.

We walk through the hallway and down the stairs into the kitchen. I see Adriana, Adam, Laura and Peter waiting around the table talking.
