Finally managed to finish updating Devise. Phew. Hard work and tears- literally. Half the chapter got deleted in the process and I had to restart that half as best as possible. -Turtle

Shikaku had stayed awake in his office at home that night without sleeping and rubbing his eyes continuously every 5 minutes. Less, even. He was trying to come up with a plan as soon as possible if he could, and so far, they didn't even know where that damned man Danzo was. It was so frustrating. The Shimura had to have thought this it first well, or he didn't and this was just how things always were with him. Stealing children like it was nothing. He sneered silently.

Yoshino was worried for her husband in the neighboring room and she stood up in her brown nightgown to go check up on him. She leaned against the door frame and saw her husband massaging his temples with an all too bright lamp directed at him and his desk that contrasted greatly against he rest of the dim, dark room. Shadows seemed to jump or slither away from the light, a small effect brought by tension of the Nara. She sighed and walked up to him and gave him a gentle kiss to his head, and he leaned back, exhausted, and he removed his reading glasses and put them down on the table.

"It's going to be alright, Shikaku. Don't stress yourself too much. If you do, it's all going to be slower, no?" he gave a tired sigh and stood up with a satisfying pop of his back.

"Says the woman who used to stay up lol night because of Shikamaru, who barely even cried," he defended in a low voice. She chuckled and held his hand, taking him out of the room.

"Well, I guess. But it's different, in this case," she breathed out. He hung his head and stroked her hair in thought.

"It is, isn't it?"

It's been one, whole month, and they finally had a lead. To where? They'd found out. Danzo had a secret organization which they thought eerily resembled ANBU, yet they didn't know its name. It was shocking at first, but they'd learned to keep it down. Of course, they hadn't old the others about it, it would be too dangerous, so they left the information between the three of them and one day went out to just a bit outside Konoha's borders, where a trap door was hidden in the village's wall. Quietly, they'd opened it and went through a dark tunnel that was the inside of the wall, where they suddenly came across some flights of stairs that led down.

Down they went, and they came across large, towering spider webs everywhere, and they had aught to had been intimidated or scared, or thought they were in some sort of huge dilemma, but they had to cope with it like Shikaku coped with smoking for once right before they started this mission. He wasn't one who usually smoked, on the contrary, he hated to, but if he were to face this without some weed in his system which probably was killing him very slowly, he wouldn't have been able to compete.

They were inside like the trained ninja they were, and Inoichi, being the best tracker, tried to find her distinct signature. He had met her before once or twice, and even if he hadn't had her chakra scent completely memorized, he could manage alright.

Long runs and discreet tiptoes were taken and they had Choza try and smell her out, or at least get a faint trace of her. They couldn't have any more well thought out plan for this and couldn't bring themselves to involve anyone else, having to rely on their current knowledge to find the girl.

They hoped they'd find her soon.

Shiru could feel their presence coming closer, she didn't want to be scared, she couldn't, she wouldn't. She was a strong willed person now, and she would have things her way when she was gotten out of here.

But she was broken. She didn't even comprehend how she'd even got herself in this stupid dilemma. It infuriated her. But she breathed.

She breathed knowing others had died in her place and she'd been left alive, albeit she didn't know why she was in the beginning.

Maybe they were waiting for her to give up and become a part of ROOT. She'd have none of that. But she'd have revenge.

Boy oh boy she'd sure have it on them. Their death sentence was hanging like a mistletoe over their heads. She was tempted to go and just - stab the man's only eye.

A jingle of the lock of the cell's door was heard and she prepared herself. She would not say for the worst. Seeing kids being tortured was the worst thing she'd ever witnessed in her entire life. It was utterly devastating to watch.

Someone came in. Someone she didn't expect to come in. More like some people, but that wasn't of importance. She was being saved, but a hint of stubbornness made her believe she could have thought of a plan and gotten out by herself. Yet for now, she fought to think it only made her problem easier. Now, all she had to do was lock herself in her own thoughts, in her room, and slowly kill her sanity.

She was starting to question it even now as she was talking and fighting with herself, wondering if it was real and how things had turned out to be like this. Why?! All because of the stoic, idiotic, but amazing friend she made called Itachi Uchiha. She'd thought it over and came to conclusion that it was Konoha's fault. Mhm. That's right. It's the Hokage, and Danzo, and all the fucking council's fault.

Her mind wasn't one to be penetrated or seen. And it was one that couldn't be change of its course of action no matter the circumstances as they hadn't changed to her and her only.

It was only a matter of time before she realized her mind had taken over her heart and her eyes were blinded from the start.

It was quite a dilemma the world had gotten itself in - giving life to such a willing child.
