Symptoms of depression: tired all the time, headache or muscle pains, loss or change in appetite, sleep problems or insomnia.
It was my best friend, Cole's 35th birthday - well actually his birthday eve. His birthday was really the 31st of March 2001, and the day I'm describing was the 30th of March 2036. I bought him this flashy laptop that had "great built-in speakers and lots of space" the saleswoman told me. I wrapped the present with patience, precision and blue wrapping paper, I planned to drop the laptop off on Cole's doorstep and then hop on a plane to Sydney for a funeral (for my 'grandad' who I saw so little of that when I did see him, he'd get my sister and I mixed up, "Is that Alex or Asha?" He was a douche and kinda deserved to die.)
I couldn't put my finger on it but there was something significant about Cole's 35th birthday. It was at the back of my mind. On the end of my tongue.
When I did remember what was so important about Cole's 35th it was too late. He was out of reach.

Teen FictionParts of this story are sadly true but obviously I've changed names and stuff. I also warn readers that there is cursing in this book and it might be triggering to some so read at your own risk. Also, there are very, very short chapters.
