Chapter 7

Naomi's perspective

I was about to walk to the stairs when I see Austin running to me.

"Naomi! Come quick! Jeremy! Crystal! Come on!" He yells as he grabs my arm and pulls me back to the armory. I run in and see Crystal hugging what looks like Jeremy.

"How are you alive?" Crystal cries

"After you guys jumped, I had to force open my door and jump out. But, I landed a little far which would explain how you didn't see me after. People were shooting though and I had to run farther and I couldn't find my way back and I got lost and hurt and confused and I finally am am able to come back. I did learn some helpful information that can help you while I was in the GD." Jeremy explains.

"Spill it." Crystal says, pulling up the whiteboard.

"Terra is in the GD, they are using her for 'entertainment' at their fancy parties, she is treated pretty nicely other than the fact that the people at those parties get pretty drunk and she has to deal with that stuff. She also has a bunch of guards outside her door and the window is too high to climb through." Jeremy says as Crystal struggles to write everything on the board before Jeremy moves on.

"How do you know all this?" Crystal asks as she finishes writing her last word.

"Laying low and listening carefully." Says Jeremy. "If we are going to recover her, we need to get invited to a party and get her from there." Jeremy says.

"Yes. it would take some time but i'm sure we can do it." Crystal says "I've already started designing special weapons. I can add yours too, Jeremy." Crystal says, picking up her sketchbook. "You guys can go hang out or visit Lark or something." Crystal says, waving me and Austin away.

"Want to go visit Lark?" Austin asks me the next morning as we were standing in the small kitchen of the base, trying to eat. Nobody could. Sasha was at the table looking over a notebook and drinking coffee and Crystal and Jeremy were still in the armory. I don't think they slept. Dallas is nowhere to be seen. Probably off somewhere being pissed off at Crystal.

"Sure" I say.

We head down the hallway and to Lark's room. We open the door and see no doctors in the room. Lark is sleeping in her bed. She opens her eyes and smiles at us when we come in.

"Hey, Lark." I say sitting on the side of her bed. Even though she was smiling, she still had a small hint of sadness in her eyes. "Crystal is going to make you a new bow." I tell her, stroking her ginger hair. Her face lights up and she smiles. The hint of sadness gone.

"Really? Can I go see Crystal?" She asks, trying to sit up.

"Shh. Not now. You need to rest." I say, gently pushing her back down.

"But-"
"I know. We will tell Crystal to come visit. Okay?" I tell her.

"Okay," Lark says, trying to keep smiling. But I knew it is hard for her to stay in bed all day when all she wants to do is move around and help us. Austin and I get up and leave the room. I close Lark's door behind me.

"You think she'll be ok?" Austin asks

"Yeah. She's going to be fine." I say

"I can't believe Ever would throw a knife into her arm in the first place." Austin says.

"We hardly know Ever. She is capable of anything as far as we know."

"Something feels weird about Jeremy being back. Austin says
