Daddy's Bunny {Book One}

"Go get the purple dress daddy picked out for you last night on facetime. It's his favorite in the whole world." I love that dress too! But, what if I can't remember where it went? "Okay, dada!" I reply, before digging through piles of clothes on my floor until it's found. I spring up off of the floor, shouting, "I FOUND IT!" into the phone. I can hear him holding in a laugh. "Very good job, angel! I can't wait to see you." It's real, soon we'll be living together. Today is the day, Emma.

"I'm gonna pack the rest of my stuff now." I frown, turning my camera on to show daddy my messy floor. "Okay, little bunny, your ride should get there in a half hour. Be good for daddy since we're not gonna talk for a few hours. See you soon, kitty." He blows kisses at the camera. "I love you, daddy! I'll see you soon." I feel bummed that I won't be able to talk to him until I get to California, but it will all be worth it. "I love you too. Bye bye, angel." Then the call ends.

It takes way longer than it should to finish packing my boxes. Leia comes by to pick up the rest for donation. I step out onto the sidewalk, goodbye apartment. I hug as close to my bear as I can, and sit down on the curb to wait for the car. I'm bored. I'm talking to my bear, but I miss daddy. I want to call him, so I pull out my phone, contemplate calling him, then decide against it. He's in a meeting right now anyway. Leia sits next to me in silence. She's looking down, and I can tell she's taking this hard. I hold my pinky out to her, and she looks up. "We'll still be friends. I won't forget about you." She grabs my pinky in hers and my promise is real.

I get excited every time I see headlights drive up my street. For the past fifteen minutes, none of them have been for me, but this one is mine. It pulls up beside me, and the driver rolls down the window, "Evening, little lady." He says, smiling kindly. I turn to Leia, "This is it. I'm going now. I love you a lot, okay? Please don't be sad. I'm always gonna be your friend, Lei. I promise." She cries and wraps her arms tight around me. "You look real pretty, Em. You're gonna be great out there- and, hey, lemme know when you land?" I nod in agreement, give her one last squeeze, and get in the car.

The ride is about half an hour to the airport, and when we get there I feel totally out of place. It's overwhelming, loud, bright, and I'm all alone. Everyone is rushing past me, and I feel like I'm being knocked around. I want daddy, I feel my throat starting to scratch and burn, but I won't cry. I just need to get through this, and I'll be alright. I check my luggage and it's honestly fun to watch it slide down the conveyor belt. Daddy told me he's going to have the rest of my things delivered. I make it through security fine, although I'm really scared they'll dig through my bag and pull my pacifier out in front of everyone. Waiting for my plane to board is horrible. I wish that I could talk to daddy, but he's busy with work and I wouldn't want to distract him with a silly meltdown. I change my mind, it would calm me down.

daddy 5:23pm - Hi my sweet baby, Im sorry you feel scared, but since you're being such a good girl, you'll get to see daddy soon!

emma 5:23pm - ik but dada im nervous :< i need my daddy to protect me !!

daddy 5:27pm - If daddy could protect his little girl he would be there in a heartbeat. Im so proud of my tiny kitty for being so brave <3 I need to get to a meeting now, bunny, I love you and Ill see you very soon!

emma 5:28pm - okie daddy,, i luv u more ! i see u soon <3

Talking to daddy did make me feel better, but my tummy still hurts from anxiety. I just want to board the plane. It will be done soon. They're starting to pre-board my plane. I'm one step closer to my daddy!
