I decided to make this story a "vlogmas" type thing so i'll post a new chapter each day for December!

i'll probably end up regretting it but hey its fine

anyway ENJOY

"Hey Natalie"

"Oh hey David. What's up?"

"I need an interior decorator for my new house. Are you interested?"

"Interior decorator?"

"Yeah you have good taste. I'll fly you out here and pay you to decorate my new house."
"Of course I'd love to."

"Great. I'll book you a flight right now."

What did I just get myself into?

~~

So its been a couple of days, and I'm now sitting on an airplane from Chicago to Los Angeles. Those are words I never thought that I'd say. I've never been west of Illinois.

I just graduated college a month ago, and I'm starting to stress as I can't find a job. I don't really want to stay in Chicago, as much as I love it, I just need to get out. Especially because right now I'm living at home with my parents seeing as how I can't afford to move out.

I also have no idea what I want to do either, which doesn't help at all.

I look at the clouds below me as I think about David.

I haven't seen him in a couple of months now, so I wonder how much he's changed.
I mean I know he's pretty successful, I've seen his videos, but is he still the same dorky kid I knew in high school?

We used to have so much fun in high school. Everyone said that we would end up dating, but we just laughed it off because we're like brother and sister. Plus, he's been dating Liza for about 2 years now and I've been dating Shawn for about 4 at this point. We're both in love, so it's not like anything would happen anyway.

The flight attendant comes to take everyone's drink orders, and I contemplate ordering a shot. I don't understand why I'm so nervous, but I'm just scared that things are going to be different.

David and I were inseparable in high school. He knew everything about me and I knew everything about him. We were with each other every day doing the stupidest things you could think of.

~Flashback~

The final bell rang, and I couldn't be more relieved. It's officially summer, and I officially have one more year of high school and I'm done with high school forever.

I walk down the hall, to see my best friend David laughing at something on his phone. Probably on the vine app.

He's recently been gaining a lot of followers, and I think he's going somewhere with it. It's crazy how much people like his stupid 7-second videos, but I'm happy for it because it makes him happy.
"Nat! Look at this!" He pushes his phone in my face, with a giant smile showing off his braces. His follower count has finally hit 100K, a milestone he's been stressing over for weeks.
"Oh my gosh, David! That's amazing," I exclaimed, giving him a hug. The other people in the hallway have now started to pay attention to what we're doing, especially since everyone knows about David's success.

"Oh hey, dude I saw you reached 100K. That's sweet we should go out to dinner to celebrate," A random guy says coming up to David. David is terrible at telling people no, even if he knows that they're just using him due to his newfound fame. He just smiles before looking back down at his phone at the new number.

"Natalie, I'm making it. I may actually make it out to LA," His eyes glisten as he talks about moving out to LA. It's been a dream of his for a while now, especially because that's where all of the big viners are.

"Have you told Corinna and Dom?" I ask, pulling out my phone to see a new text, Corinna. Speak of the devil.

"No we should all celebrate tonight," He says exiting out of the vine app to text Corinna and Dom in our group chat I'm guessing.
Davey D to Corinna, Dom and me: We're celebrating tonight ladies.

~Flashback over~

What a simple time. All he cared was the numbers on vine and I cared about getting through high school. And now vines dead, and college is over too.

We land as I come out of my daze, and I turn on my phone to see a text from David.

Davey D: Hey Nat. I just got to the airport. See you at the baggage claim.

The text made my palms sweat, and I rub them on my pants in order to get rid of the sweat.

As I head toward baggage claim, I see him standing there staring at his phone. He's skinnier, that's for sure, but not too skinny. Dressed in all black, including a hat, he doesn't notice me until I'm a few feet away.

"Hey, Nat."

"Hey, David."
