LOVINGLY SILENT

Once there were best of friends named Chris and Michelle, they were best of friends since they were kids. They tell each other their secrets and crushes and times that they were down and just needed somebody to be with them. Secretly Chris liked Michelle, but didn’t have the guts to admit it. One time Michelle went to him happily and explained why.

“Michelle, why are you so jumpy all of a sudden?”

“ Umm, because, do you know Mike?”

“Yeah, the football jock. What about him?”

“ Promise not to tell anyone?”

“ Yup I promise.”

“I kind of, You know…”

“I know what?! Say it!”

“I like him, okay!”

“U-huh! Yihieee!” while tickling her, “You like boys now! Hahaha!” he looked convivial but on the inside he is hurt and feels very depressed.

A year after his father died because of a car accident and Chris is trying to hold back the tears but eventually cried and was comforted by Michelle,

“Chris, it’s ok, its ok to cry you’re not gonna be less of a man if you cry, It’s your dad that died, he deserves mourning, and plus I’m are here for you, I will never leave you. Just remember if you need someone to talk to, I’m always here, when you need me, I’ll be there.”

While crying he answered, “tha..nks Mi..che..lle, I know .. I can.. count on… you”

Then after that day, Chris and Michelle continued to live their lives happily together for some time. And Chris really fell more for his bestfriend and felt like he has a friend with him always, but….

A few years have passed, Michelle now 17 years old is dreadfully walking towards Chris at his home crying and said,

“Chris, in a few days were moving out…”

Chris answered sounding angrily but crying,

“What!? What about your promise to me? I thought you said you would never leave me? I thought you were my bestfriend!”

“ Yes, I still am and I’d hate to leave you, you know that. But my dad’s company is forcing him to, and I’m sorry, I just hope we can meet each other again…”

They mourned and hugged together sharing their goodbyes and they spent their few days together, making it last but the day finally came that Michelle had to leave.

Chris once again trying to be a man in front of Michelle, withholding the tears in his eyes for the loss of his bestfriend…

“Goodbye Michelle and remember that I will always be here.. (waiting for you)!!”

“I’ll come back Chris, I promise! Just wait for me!!!”

The years passed, Chris, still waiting for the return of his beloved childhood bestfriend, finally ended when he met this girl that was somehow like Michelle, he liked her and she liked him and eventually they got engaged. And Chris now working at real estate, thriving to make money for their wedding, one day a knocked on his door and he forgot all about it.

He opened the door and standing there, shocked, saw a familiar–looking beautiful girl standing in front of him, smiling.

“Chris!”

“Michelle?!”

“Yeah this is me! Its been 10 years huh! How are you?”

“I’m fine but, how did you got here all of a sudden?”

“I moved back here, because I miss it here.. and of course you too!! So how are you?”

Chris felt a sensation of happiness and regret inside, he felt happy because Michelle was here again and regret because he remembered about his fiancée and felt a kind of quarrel in side his heart trying to fnd out who he loved more.

“ I’m fine and I’m engaged now…”

“Oh, how wonderful! Congrats old friend! Haha!”

“Haha, I’d want for you to come, if you are free.”

“Of course I’ll come! What kind of best friend misses her bestfriend’s wedding?

Then after a long time of greeting they sat down and caught up with each other and just talked there not recognizing the hours passing by.

After a few days, drawing nearer to what was supposeto be the happiest days of his life, went to Michelle’s house crying

“Hey, what’s happening to you? Be merry, rejoice my friend, you are going to get married in a few days!!”

“No, I’m not”

“What!? Why? What happened?”

“I don’t know, I just think she is not the one for me...”

“And you’re cancelling the wedding?”

“Ye… Yes”

“Well, that’s fine, if you really don’t think that she is the one, there are plenty of girls there, and the one you are waiting for is among them waiting for the day that you will be together…”

“ I do know one girl, I love her, but I don’t know how should I admit it to her.”

“Just tell her you love her and kiss her, 3 words can mean a lot to a girl”

“oh okay then… thank you…”

Then Chris went away and whispered to himself…

“I Love You Michelle…”

Michelle slowly closed the door touched her heart fell to the floor sitting and looked to the ceiling and whispered

“ I Love You Chris, that girl, whoever she will be, is going to be lucky to have you…”

The following day…

Someone knocked on Michelle’s door.

Michelle opened it and to her surprise Chris was standing there smiling”

“Hey you look pre-…”

She was interrupted by a long kiss that came from Chris. She had an urge in her to stop, but it did not prevail and she closed her eyes and felt like she was in a new world while she was kissing Chris. And then it came to a stop.

Chris Said, “I Love You!”

Michelle just stared at him and did not answer.

“ Didn’t you hear what I said I Love You!! I was thinking to myself last night and found out that what’s wrong in my life is that I am not with you”

A few seconds slipped and Michelle finally talked to him and said

“Tha is not how I told you to do it…”

“Oh, sorry,”

Chris walked away then suddenly felt someone grabbed his shoulder, he turned around and found out that what was waiting for him was a kiss from Michelle.

“Haha, I love you too Chris!”

Then they lived together and eventually got married and lived happily in their lives.
