"What do you do Dmitry..." The question had been running through my mind all night. I didn't give her an answer, instead I walked out when her parents walked in. I couldn't give her an answer. I'm the next Italian Capo, and I WILL NOT lose my title or lifestyle for a woman. She can't know what I do for 2 reasons, reason number 1 being if she knows about my affiliations with the gang, she could be a target 2 being she could talk. 2 big things we cannot let happen. But the question still remains, who the hell was the woman who came asking questions about me. I pulled out my phone, and dialed a number. They picked up, and all you heard were moans. I rolled my eyes. "Emilio, I need you to get footage from Mildred's diner from today. He groaned. "How soon do you need it? I'm in something right now." I swear if he wasn't a relative of mine he'd be pummeled to the ground. "Now Emilio, be at my Dad's in an hour." I cut the call, and ran my hand down my face. This day has been hectic. First I find a man watching Haydin and I, next we hear my mother is still alive, and now Haydin's questioning my lifestyle. I know what I need, but I haven't turned to that in 2 years. I stood up, and opened the safe in my house. I pulled out the bag I was searching for. Memories came flooding back to me.
My brothers and I are the most eligible teen bachelors in all of New York, how could women not fall for our charm? 2 women sat in my lap, while 2. 1 each sat on my brother's. Seeing as our father is a millionaire, and invests to many companies, clubs included, we were V.I.P. members. One of the girls on me, kissed down my neck, while the other pulled something out of her bra. "How about we turn this party up a notch?" She showed me the white powder. I took it from her, and eyeballed it. I had never turned to coke before, but there's always a first time for everything right? She took it back from me, and started dividing it. Camden and Kaiden were too engrossed in the women to pay attention to me. She handed me a rolled up bill. "Rookies first." If only my mother was here, she'd be disappointed. I snorted the first line, leaning back shutting my eyes. I could feel the drugs taking over my body. Everything was in full speed, the partying, the drinking, the drugs, the women.
------
I ended up getting addicted to it at one point. I don't what made me stop.I guess the thought of my mother seeing me? I don't know. I looked at the little bag of powder. I stood up, and threw it in the fire. I cannot go down that path again. I threw my whole stash in the fire, and grabbed my hair in frustration. My mind is all over the place, and the one person I would normally turn to is apart of my jumbled mind.
I dialed a number, and waited for them to pick up. "Ciao Dmitry."
"Nonna, I need someone to talk to. I am in the middle of a lot right now and you're the only one I can talk to right now." I turned to my grandmother when things were really bad.
"What's going on?" I told her everything starting from when I met Haydin, to me starting to fall for her, someone watching us, to news of my mother possibly being alive to Haydin's questions. "Well mi nipote, you sound just like your father when it came to your mother. He was just as stubborn as you when it came to him having feelings for her. All I can say is, do the right thing. Only you know what to do in this situation. As for your mother, we all saw her body, traces amount of her blood was found on the body and her DNA, she's gone."
I knew she was right, but part of me felt like she was really alive. "Nonna, what IF she really was alive? Where would she be?"
"She'd be running home to her family. You know how much your mother loved you guys." I ran my fingers through my hair. "When am I going to meet this girl Dmitry? I have to make sure she's good enough to tear down your walls like you say she does." I chuckled, and walked around the house. Conversations like this with my grandmother are always needed when I'm down. What she said made sense. "Thanks Nonna, you really helped. Ti amo, I'll talk to you later." We cut the call, and I plopped back down in my chair. I know what I need to do, but there's only one thing that would possibly come out of this.
Haydin is going to leave.
