I wake to the sound of the dorm door creak open, then shut. I hear Zatanna stumble in the dark. I suddenly hear another voice. Deeper and quieter.

Morgon.

I lay low in my bunk and listen to them whisper.

"Is she here?" that is Morgon.

"I think she went out. Anyways, that is not important. What is important is that you have been spending too much time with her. You know the rules," I hear Zatanna hiss.

"Nothing is wrong with a tiny little interview. Besides, she does not suspect a thing."

"You do not know that. That interview seemed more like a date to me. I told her to stay away from you. You have to do the same."

I hear Morgon sigh. "I know, I know. I cannot get close to her or else I will be hurt as well."

Hurt? What does he mean by hurt? What is going on?

"Exactly. Do not forget the reason we are at Nymphadora Academy."

"Yes, I know. Because Father sent us here to look for people like Ora. But what if I do not want to do that to her?" says Morgon.

"See? This is exactly what Dad does not want! You like her, do you not?"

Even without seeing his face, I can tell that he went red from the edge in his voice. "No. I never said that."

"You do not have to. It is obvious. Oooh, Morgon. Dad is going to kill you." Even though Zatanna has always sounded bitter, I do not think I have ever heard her sound this mad. I wait until they argue some more before they both leave the room. Quietly, I fly off the bed and fly out the window. I cannot risk them seeing me coming out of the dorm.

As I fly, I brush tears from my eyes.

So he really never liked me. Or not for the right reason. Or not for the reason I wanted it to be. He was just spying on me. For once I thought I would have a real friend. Maybe even more than just a friend. But why on earth would he need to spy on me. What about me is so important or special?

As I fly to the courtyard, I brush my wet cheeks and search for Duran. I need someone to talk to.

Loneliness and depression hit me hard when I realized I couldn't find a single person that I knew or was friends with. I decided to go to my signature tree again; to practice my magic.

My stomach flew to my mouth. Morgon was sitting there. At my tree. Shock overwhelmed me as he looked up at my stricken face. Without warning, my eyes flooded with tears as I saw him stare at me.

"Ora," I would not let him finish. I took off in to the air, not knowing where to go. Anywhere but where Morgon is. Tears poured down my cheeks. I suddenly felt like the wizard fountain that centers the courtyard.

I spot Duran with Lyla underneath a big willow tree. They seemed to be having a good time so I decided not to bother them. I land on the soft, green grass and walk around. Maybe it will help me get my mind off of things. I criss-cross many students, I listen to random conversations each person has, I study friends with their friends, longing to be like them.

A dragon boy bumps into me, he drops his things.

"Oh my moons!" I say, startled. "I am so sorry!"

"Don't worry about it," he says as he picks up his books. One of the books I recognize.

"You like Harry Potter?" I ask, surprised.

"Uh, yeah." he looks at me with ruby red eyes. Instead of pupils, he has long black slits in the center of his eyes. His red hair is spiked up. Hints of scales surround his eyebrows wrapping around his eyes. He is handsome.
