Eleven years ago the gang war between the Castillo clan and the Petrov pack had reached its height in Gotham. The infamous King of the Dead aka Rafael Castillo ruled over the neighborhood named Hekate with a bloody, iron fist. His reign of terror had lasted for many years, with many attempting to thwart his ascension to power only to end up ten feet under. Meanwhile, the Petrov pack, an older gang resented Rafael's handling of things and planned a coup. It ended in a massacre and the total breakdown of Hekate's Metahuman Supermax Prison. With the escape of Hysteria, an unholy metahuman who could bring nightmares to life, Hekate turned into a hellscape. Many innocents were murdered and several mutated from the effects of Hysteria's powers. When the chaos was dealt with, known as the Day of Reckoning to Gotham residents, both the Castillo and Petrov families had met grotesque ends.
