After Kaia had gotten over the initial shock of Marian, Harry, and Faith leaving.  She had written Marian a long reply letter.  Telling her best friend that she wasn't mad at her.  Deep down she did understand why Marian had written the letter.  A part of it still did hurt, but Zayn was right, she needed to fly.  She needed to finally learn to stand on her own two feet.  Especially with all of this new information about her parents and her past.  She knew that Marian would always be there to support her, but she also knew that her friend needed to be on her own for a while with her husband and didn't need her hovering like she liked to do.

She hoped her journey home would be uplifting and rejuvenating and that she could find her way back to happiness with Harry.  She asked her to promise that with them staying in California for a little while longer, that they don't lose touch.  Not that Ahmir would let either of them.  Demanding little boy he was.  She had the twins draw some pictures and she included them in the letter.  She dropped it in the mail, not knowing when Marian and Harry would get home so she didn't know when she would even hear from her.  Zayn had mentioned that he had promised Marian she could Facetime with Ahmir from time to time and Kaia promised she wouldn't interfere in those calls.  She asked that he would pass along how much she loved her best friend and he said that he would.

Kaia was sitting out by the pool with her journal.  She had started to write in it again.  Not just her own personal one, but the one she shared with Zayn.  It was a tradition they continued since Montana and they had lost track of what number journal they were on.  She would go back every once in a while and pick a random one and read it and it always brought tears to her eyes.  Sometimes sad, but mainly happy.  It was their one place they could be completely open and honest with each other when one or the other was a little scared to face the other with things.  But they always came together after the fact to talk about what was bothering them.  It was one of the things that just worked well for them.

She could hear giggles from her children coming from inside the house and she turned and smiled at the open sliding glass door that led to the living room.

They had finished dinner not that long prior and Zayn said that he would take care of cleaning up.

It was still mid-summer so the sunsets were later and she loved sitting outside and soaking up the sunshine.  She loved living in London, but she truly missed the warmth and sunshine of California.

She dipped her bare feet into the pool and opened her journal and was about to start writing when she heard footsteps behind her.  She turned to see her sister walking towards her.  "I thought you were on twin and Karim duty?"

Katia sat down next to Kaia and put her own bare feet into the water of the pool as well and smiled.  "I was, but they wanted to spend time with Uncle Liam and Uncle Lou," she said with a small roll of her eyes.  "I'm just chopped liver when they're both around," she laughed.

Kaia set her journal and pen aside and swirled her feet in the warm water.  "What's up?" she asked.  "You look like there's something on your mind."

"Janice called me."

"Okay," she said.  They were planning on finally going to lunch with her the next day.  Kaia was finally giving in.  She had been trying to avoid it for a while now as her anxiety went up every time she thought about it.  Still trying to take everything in about the information about their parents.

Both she and Katia had Googled their birth father and even their birth mother to see if they could find out any more information.  There was loads of information on Bruce Bennet and some bits on their mother, Summer, which surprised them both.  Summer had had some small parts in some B movies and TV shows and they figured that was how their parents had met.  There were some pictures of their mother online from her short-lived acting career.  But that was as far as they had gone.  Both of them nervous about digging any deeper.  "Are we still going to lunch tomorrow?"
